I have something positive to say about this failboat.

The new forum is much, much, much improved, and tons faster and smoother than the old one.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

VT2 you were in my kd then you left :(

Kingdom Page looks like ****, its sloppy and a huge downgrade from the current kingdom page setup. Ruins the fun with kd themes too.

Why is my province name in Montana sized font on the front page? Trying to make it obvious I'm playing a game at work?

The whole thing looks like Utopia had a stroke. Your attempts to improve the visual quality of the game made it look horrendous. It's like ****ty plastic surgery, we all know it was done, and you look ridiculous.

    Overall, it sucks.

Who cares about visuals in a beta-game?
But yeah, it's awful, and the entire nav-bar looks cluttered and messy.

    It's my kingdom now.
I've made an important announcement regarding said matters.

The Royal Chamberlain can assist you in the management of the Kingdoms' fora.
Seriously, what the **** is that? We don't want you to change whatever you want. Recode the game AS IT IS, and then make changes that we suggest and agree will benefit the game. Some of this **** is so retarded, makes me not wanna play. It's a crap version of a great game because of needless changes. I don't see how these stupid changes make the game better, so why were they done? You both are fail.

Why would you change the TRAIN button to 'Order the Changes'? Order the changes? Who came up with this ****? I can't believe how crappy this is after months of work.

Bear with the stupid, cluttered, kinda buggy inferface, the fact that the nav-bar scrolls with the page you're viewing, the addition of a 'royal chamberlain,' and all the useless and senseless menus for now.

If they affect no changes to it before next week, wben we're - once again - supposed to pretend that Genesis will restart, we crusade against them.

It's a weak build because the people who are supposed to be working on it don't really work on it at all, and are too busy 'improving' it, and swapping porn in Dylan C's basement.
Regardless, graphics don't matter one bit this, dare I say it, 'early into development.' Granted, I could have done a better job using notepad, and in half the time it's taken them to get this far.

Just let things get settled, when the code is ready we'll wait for someone to step in and fix the layout with a FF plugin, much like metatron does now.

You guys must remember, this optimized, more modern an beautiful, layout might not work for veterans like us, new players will just love the longwinded explanations on every page. Plus they'll feel truly skilled, as playing this game takes skill, playing this game is all about clicking links, and there sure are much more to click in the new version!

I think any new player is going to get really, really confused when the game starts mentioning royal chamberlains, and how there's not one page which has all the magic on it, but two - one where you 'train' your dudes, and another where you tell your dudes to kill your evil enemies' dudes.

What was so bad about having all the relations and diplomacy on one page, anyway? Is it really necessary to have 'vote,' 'war,' 'ceasefires,' and 'relations,' when you could just, you know, have one page, called something like - you know - diplomacy, or relations? Yes? No? Maybe.

    You're just stupid, OMAC.
Typical example of new developers trying too hard to 'improve' something that doesn't need any 'improving' in the first place.
Change fot the sake of change.

What purpose is changing Page to a Royal Chamberlain? They obviously have wasted all this time coming up with stupid **** they can throw into the game for no ****ing reason instead of doing actual coding. The interface sucks so bad I don't even want to play it, I will probably delete before I make it 24 hours.

<Spheric> wtf is a Royal Chamberlain
<DHaran> hang on, i need to train
    <DHaran> oh wait
    <DHaran> i mean
    <DHaran> "Order the Changes"
<Spheric> I just "applied" some changes

You months of work is already nothing more than the butt of jokes.

    Just stick it out.
I see this all the time. Inexperienced 'developers' try to claim and improve on something they've been told to port, remake, or copy, and then you get messes like Utopia 1.1b, Sonic Genesis, Breath of fire advance, Final fantasy 4 Advance, Final fantasy 4 DS, Codex: Chaos space marines, and so on.

If people complain before the beta is made into an actual product, it will salvage itself.
If there's no option for people to actually even view the horrible 'remake,' the users will become very frustrated and alienated, and the developers aren't likely to be allowed to 'develop' anything ever again, for any reason.

Look up Gav Thorpe, and his epic fail on the chaos marines. The hatred people throw against OMAC is laughable in comparison to that.

    You're slow.
I've been making jokes about that, and the fact that the 'beta' has less than 300 players, for half a day now.

My problem is, why put thought into this stupid crap like changing link names, splitting perfectly functional ones into multiple links, renaming political posts, and altering the damn words on every clickable object in game? It makes no sense. All they had to do was COPY THE DAMN GAME. This way, the players here now are alienated from what is familiar. My first thought when logging in was, "I don't want to play this game".

By the way, where is the kingdom news from the previous month? Did you forget to make a separate link for that?

    <Spheric> I'll probably delete tomorrow
    <Shamus|home> ye me 2
    <Cartis^> and me =P

    and me.

"My problem is, why put thought into this stupid crap like changing link names, splitting perfectly functional ones into multiple links, renaming political posts, and altering the damn words on every clickable object in game?" Because that's what new 'developers' and creative people are going to be doing for their first projects.

"It makes no sense." Yes, it does. They're adding change for the sake of change, because they don't have the experience needed to realize that what's not broken doesn't need to be fixed.

I really don't care, because it's all related to the 'graphics,' anyway.
Other than slow messaging, a better forum, and a stupid nav-bar, it's the same old, broken, silly game.
The good thing about 'graphics' in 'games' like Utopia is that it's very easy to change them.
I could do it in notepad.

Alas, we have no thieves to do our dirty deeds.
I'm waiting for my military advisor to break into ACDC.
