What rule was Mehul vs OMAC breaking, Exci?

    I want to know.

Here's what I was going to reply with, before it ended up being deleted.

"Utopia under Mehul didn't go from 120,000 to 60,000 over a period of one year.
It took five years to get to 100,000, with a starting number of 5000 during the two betas.

Under OMAC, we've dropped from 22k to 11k - all in a year, which is a tenth of the time Mehul ran the game.

OMAC are useless at doing their job."
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

Totally misleading,Mehul did not deal with the rampant wholesale cheating as efficient as Omac has done ,forcing out 50% of hacks waks and multis over 1 year compared to Mehul's 30% over 5 years.IMO

They haven't 'forced' out a single of the real, hardcore, ultimate and professional cheaters, in case you missed it.
Rather, they've invited more, and made their cheating ways a legal and necessary part of the game.

Even Mehul got more actual cheaters destroyed, despite the fact that he only did so in these little rages, that resembled something out of the old testament.

This. The mechanics of cheating weren't changed, just what was called cheating.

No they have not. OMAC started to do it once they took the game over but many upper tiered kingdoms started getting whacked and threw a fit. Remember all the 'account problems' when they took over. So they legalized the cheating instead.

something to consider about the game's demise....

well, the game has been dropping steadily since broadband, and thus online 3D gaming, has become more the norm than online text based games

i cant comment on the speed of which people are leaving, but wish i could see the rate people left from when the game had dropped from 100,000 to 70,000

would NOT surprise me if the decline from 70,000 to current state was pretty constant

If you ask around, people will tell you the game seemed like a lot of fun at first, but there was just 'something' wrong, that instantly turned them off from it when they realized what this 'something' was.

The game has a nasty reputation for letting cheaters win, and letting bullies do their thing in peace.

This is mostly Mehul's fault, actually, because he didn't bother to take care of it when the game was still young. This has aided in the growth of what's really just a culture of cheating.

I hope you realize using that kind of language gives them an actual reason to close things.

The most obvious change, as someone who took an 8 year break off and took the game seriously both back then and now is simply the time committment involved for the average player to be competitive.

When attack times were 20 hours long, the average player could login once a day and be in a top kingdom or a top province.

The sheer stress I've felt from playing the past age was more than than I ever felt in the 3 years played before.

This can't help attract players. Even the die-hards now seem to not be able to handle the time committment/stress.

Cheating has become much much less powerful now as compared to then primarily due to GBP, war only mage/thief ops and NW differential on mage thief ops. Although X-logging is quite powerful nowadays.
