Mods: Why do you delete threads about cloning the game?

Second "Utopia Clone" thread deleted.

This really does not reflect well on you guys. Nobody was flaming you. Nobody was saying anything that breaks the terms of the forum.

We were discussing how one could duplicate the game.

If that scares you so much -- players simply discussing building a new game -- then you really are worthless developers.

Three threads have now been deleted simply because people were discussing ways to collectively build a new game. How does that scare you? Do you really think people developing another game will somehow take away traffic to your game? That would be a ridiculous assertion. The only reason people will leave your game is if you don't figure out how to fix your defect ridden code.

Deleting threads won't fix the code. So please stop hassling your own players when they want to discuss how best to build a new game.

It is weak and petty. It is not against their interests. Another web game won't harm them. It's not like choosing Coke over Pepsi. What will kill their game is their lack of process management, defect control, and effective test cycles.

They should spend more time working out their own company than deleting threads of fans discussing how to make a second game -- which does not compete with them.
