dude, seriously. it's getting to the point now that some people won't be happy even if the game was doing everything perfectly and they were number one on all of the lists.
i mean, c'mon. extensive down times, yes, complainable.

the new tick system, complainable and extremely aggravating
but the server being slow is just finding a reason to complain in my opinion. it's not any slower than the other version was back in the time when i played. so, relax, enjoy chemistry or whatever and let the game load. at least it's now loading.

if it's taking your pc that long to load, then i'd say it's something else. i'm running 5 tabs at the moment and on a pc that originally came with windows 2000 and has all of the original innards.
my pc takes about 10 to 15 seconds to load utopia pages. which is also about how long it takes to load this forum. so, i don't know why yours is so slow, but perhaps it's something internal.
oh and and i'm running all of these programs:
firefox
advertisement for utopia angel
clipboard manager
windows calculator
windows xp serv pack setup wiz (converting to xp atm)
windows update ie page
military calc
downloads
my firefox alone is running 97k mem usage.
the point to it all is that it's only taking 10-15 seconds on an old computer with all of this open. i don't know why it should take longer on yours.
I'm running 1 thing, and it takes ~a minute to load a page. It's not my computer either.
well, i dunno what to say then. i guess i'm just lucky but the load time is not bad on my end. i mean, perhaps its firewall settings, networks, adapters...it could be a lot of things that are not solely related to the actual site.
anyway, i hope whatever it is, it works itself out somehow. :)

OMAC are cleverly lowering everybody's expectations so we'll start being happy whenever anything works. It's like starving your dog for weeks, it'll love on you endlessly for every little scrap you toss it. Very, very evil and clever OMAC.

forum pages load in under 1 second
utopia pages load in 30-60 seconds
taking an hour to attack is fail. It was ok because game was going faster when it was frozen so i had CB's already but now it is slow as hell so it is going to be a ***** when my army is home... unless it is fixed by then <3
