Artisan bonus to decreased massacre

This may be a really stupid question but the artisan bonus states:

"50% Protection of Buildings from Tornadoes, Arson Operations, Raze and Massacre Attacks"

I thought that massacre attacks killed peasants, theifs, wizards and what not, but left buildings alone. Does this mean that massacre attacks kill 50% less peasants, etc?

in war massacre destroys buildings, not acres, buildings

massacre kills peasants, thieves and mages (9.5% peasants, 8.5% thieves and 5% wizards) and on an arti you;d kill 50% of that...

No it kills the same % of peasants, wiz and thives...But destroys 50% less buildings..

It kills approx 20% more than that in each category

i will admit to not having done massacre in war for a while... but last time i did, massacre in war killed pez/wiz/theives and destroyed ~3-4% of target's buildings....
