Anyone know what's wrong with irc server?

I know it's not really uto related, but I thought this was best place to post.

Does anyone know what's going on with the irc server irc.utonet.org?

It got hijacked by hackers on steroids.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

I think Catwalk is too busy at the moment to do irc stuffies.

irc = outdated 80's type chat without the mullet, only to find yourself sitting and wondering, "why the hell am I using this program?"

IRC is the historical wargamer of tabletop gaming.

I guess you guys don't use emails either then. Seeing as it's an outdated technology.

So much better with MSN and the likes, where you feed your inner child with all the funny smilies and bling. Not to mention how wonderful the chat rooms are when there are 15 ppl talking at the same time. Not to mention how you never miss anything unless you happen to be there at the right moment. Oh, and the MSN bots are so useful too!

MSN is for 15 year old girls and the 50 year old men who want to look at the girls.

I like how I don't have to configure ports with MSN, and that everybody has it.

I don't have to configure ports to use IRC. And anyone can get on IRC without having to register, so essentially even more people "have" IRC.

Why would I download IRC, run java to make it work, or visit bizarre webpages, when everybody has MSN?

    This isn't the 90's.

For IRC you have several options: online java clients, online CGI clients, online AJAX clients, download standalone IRC clients, download extension to FireFox, run the built in IRC app in Opera, use Trillian (which also supports MSN).

For MSN you have to register an account and use one of the clients that support the MSN protocol. In some parts of the world, MSN is popular, in others they use AOL and so on. Everybody DOES NOT have MSN, and either way, MSN is inferior for most purposes anyway. But yeah, it's perfectly adequate for 15 year old girls.

"MSN doesn't have group chats!" Yes, it does.
    "MSN lags!" No, it doesn't.
"MSN requires that you register an EMAIL!" Which you have many of.
"MSN is slooooooooooow!" No, it isn't. What? Are you on a 486? A pentium 2? Upgrade to 32 megs of RAM already.
"You can't slap people with large trouuuuuuuuts!" *whine, moan, whine* Yes, you can.
"It's not the saaaaaaaaaaame!" Yes, it is.
"IT MOVES TOO FAST FOR ME!" Are you 60 years old?

2010 calling all internet users. 2010 calling all internet users.
Hello, internet users. This is 2010 calling. IRC is outdated, and there are better alternatives, that people actually use.
    2010, over and out.
