    Draft cost formula...?

    The formula in the wiki goes as follows (sorry if it's messy)

    The way the current draft level modifies draft costs is unknown.
    This doesn't make any sense. Current Draft Level? Isn't it just:

    Soldiers drafted*(Draft cost/Soldier)*Tactician Bonus*Arms Bonus

    ?

    I know you hate necroing, but this thread is applicable to a discussion we are having. We are seeing different soldier costs, so can you explain what is the min and max cost and relationship per current drafted amount (draft level) have on the cost per soldier? thanks

    I think the cost rises at a linear rate as your draft rate/maximum population increases, after a certain rate... I think 50%? I know it's tied to DR.

    Right now I am at roughly 65% DR, and normal draft costs 65. When I get new land in, I can check to see what the new cost is.

    Nooblet is right. It's pretty level from like 0-30% draft (I don't think it changes at all). And after a certain point it increases as DR further increases.

    The formula? Dunno.

    i dont know the exact rate it increases but for those interested, 72.5% draft rate=> cost/sold of

    Anyone else played with this? I am finding that;

    Base draft cost*((1-[Current Draft%])+1)

    seems to be adding up for me...

    Right now my province is 64.7% Drafted, and I have my draft set on Normal (Base cost: 50gc), so;

    50gc*((1-0.647)+1)
    =50gc*(1.353)
    =67.65gc

    And my current cost is 68gc/Soldier.


    I have heard of using the peasant% as the modifier instead, but this number comes out to 66gc/Soldier for me.

    hmm nevermind it was a coincidence that the numbers worked for me, i think... KDmate has disproved.

    Why near start of Age? I frequently drop as low or sometimes lower draft rate than that in eowCFs... am I missing something?

    I worked out this formula a few years ago after the last draft rate change. I haven't checked if anything has been changed since then so you should test it before accepting it as accurate but I think it should still work.


    Soldier cost = (Base Cost)*MAX(1, 2.4*Army/MaxPop)*(Other mods like armories or post war)
    Draft cost = Soldier Cost * Number Drafted

    Base costs are:
    Reservist 30
    Normal 50
    Aggressive 75
    Emergency 110

    Army is your total number of soldiers, specs, and elites. It does not include thieves and wizards.

    I'm not sure offhand how the rounding is done, but that should be easy to check.

    If this is still correct, your soldier costs start increasing once your army/max pop goes above 5/12. If this doesn't work, check if the multiplier, 2.4 (or 12/5), was changed.

    Hmm, ok. I'll work with those numbers until I can get some of my own.

    Also, is the Military page similar to the Buildings page, in that even now when I am in EoWCF it it shows those same base soldier costs as in above post, just like your Farms and Towers on Buildings Page doesn't show your actual modified production. It is supposed to be Draft cost reduced 50%, is it not?

    Modifier is either off or non linear. Here's my numbers:
