What's a good enough raw tpa to not use watch towers?
Or is the fact that you're an A/T imply that you have good enough theif defense?

tpa is tpa.
So the fact that you're an A/T means you have thief defense. A lot of it if you're running your A/T right.
ok, good that's what i tought. just trying to work out a good build strat
As a heavy attacker you may want to run some, but that's about it
3 raw TPA would warrant WTs if you're against halflings, or really good thieves in general.
Most good A/ts run 4+ raw end-age, and WTs would be a waste in that case.
i'd say if you are A/T thief use the TDs instead of WTs to increase TPA and you can contribute to thief ops, if you are heavy attacker though, go with some WTs
TPA, which is modded by TDs, is a better defense than relying on WT.
Thanks, I was going to run TDs regardless. So with a raw 4 tpa and aiming for say... 45 dpa army out and 70 opa, what kind of draft rate should I run?
Enough to keep your economy going when you reach it. Don't forget housing science, it will be your friend.
What race/personality are you going with? Humans make a good A/Ts this age, but so do halfers. I guess that you could do undead/rogue as a decent A/T as well, but science is a problem for them.
Humans would have a lower draft for the 4/45/70 that you're aiming for, but the exact % depends on the amount of homes that you use (if any,) population science, and TGs/forts used (unless you're aiming for raw numbers there.)
Retired at one time but no longer retired.
haha, excellent. i just remember when i used to play i always had problems with my BE and economy despite running 10% homes, and usually having 10% housing sci and 10% be sci. But I think i was running like 70% draft rate (at least)
AT needs to run TD's, not WT's. I've done both this age and TD's works better. At least for a gnome warrior they did....
