i downloaded mIRC and it says i have 16 days with an evaluation copy and then need to register which i guess costs money?

you can use it beyond eval period, it just makes you wait a while when you start up and hit continue once more.
Whats a default irc channel to go to for utopia? i can't find any of them

Just ask around for kd channels.
Make sure you connected to the server from the wiki page.. You won't find any utopia channels on a different server.Originally Posted by DDodge

If you're like me and don't really like mIRC as a client, try Mibbit (if you use Chrome for your browsing) or Chatzilla (if you use Firefox for your browsing). Both are easier to use and function better than mIRC imho.
