That still doesn't explain why you would combine it with tactican...

Also you ask for the top5 race/pers combinations which according to me indicates you are asking which combos are the best.

I tried to think up a list and I kept running into roadblocks like "well but this race/pers is good for this... and if you're in this kind of kd you want... etc, etc."

I guess that's a good sign though? (no partic order)

I dont think your can give the top 5 combo, since it's up to the role you play and what your kd plan for the age is, but if i had to choose my own top 5 i would say:

Avian\Cleric

I think the Orc/cleric being on everyone's list has more to do with the orc than the cleric. It does seem weird that everyone seems to think orcs have to be clerics, but it's a solid choice. It seems like it would limit your war strats tho, but just looking at the province it's strong.

the way i see it, avian cleric is a good choice that allow you to use the fast attack time and save the need to rebuild the army at war, thanks to the -50% military casualties.

also, the -25% br mean that if your pop go down at war, you can still rebuild your army without waiting for the draft.
it give the avian the chance to keep use his major strong point (attack time) longer.

as for orc, while it give you less credits then tact, you keep your high price elites alive and again help you rebuild the army without waiting for the draft in case of a pop problem.

on both the races, one extra gen is also nice.
