    UF News: No Ned Flanders

    If you had spawned this age on island 31, and you expected to have a nice neighbour, you would have been dissapointed. Just after the server reset, the Kingdom of Melee Weapons received an ingame msg from their new neighbour asking to setup a war after protection ends. No arrangements were made initially, and eventually Melee Weapons even proceeded to send a request to their neighbours asking them not to engage their kingdom.

    Melee's neighbours, the Elitist Jerks, however, are not Ned Flanders. More like Nelson in fact, so instead of just saying "Okily-dokily" when asked not to attack, Jerks stayed true to their name and waved the first hour out of protection. Despite initially threatening to drag the relations out and not hit the button, Melee Weapons would have a change of heart 12 hours later when they declared WAR on Elitist Jerks. Jerks were able to make 42 attacks and gain just over 1400 acres during the 12 hour hostile period in which they suffered 10 retals from Melee.

    As the War began, Dragons from both sides were sent out. Melee sent Emerald and began the war by multi-tapping the orcs in Jerks. The Gold BE dragon was sent by Jerks who also began targetting the orcs in Melee Weapons. After 24 hours, due to multi-taps the hit count heavily favored Melee who were able to gain back most of what they lost during hostile but not all. Jerks, after receiving 185 successful attacks in the first 24 hours of war, had sent just 85 of their own, utilizing ambushes more than their opponents, but bounced notably less attacks.

    The following 3 and a half days of war saw Melee slowly stop gaining land as each day passed. They were able to have success chaining down many orcs, but several bounces and an economic disadvantage due to the 2nd Gold dragon they were unable to slay gave Elitist Jerks the edge they needed to make stronger provinces, building up their avians and halflings to be unbreakable, or risky to hit at the least. Although the attack count for the first 4 days heavily favored Melee, with no retrainable military, Melee's legs eventually gave out and they surrendered after 112 hours of war.

    Safe to say this was quite an intense war, and a superb effort from both teams to kick off the new age, giving some of the top land/nw kingdoms a lesson in how it's done. Roughly 1275 attacks were made in 4 and a half days, which is equivalent to 1 attack every 20 minutes. Jerks take home the war win and dominance of the Island, in addition to approximately 4k acres of Melee Weapons' land.
