If I were to cast animate dead does it raise only def specs or does it also raise elites?
Also at what strength would the risen fight?

Sry we forgot...which troops is it raising? All or just specs?
It raises all of them, but they're converted back into soldiers. Take for example you lose 200 specs and 100 elites. 100 specs and 50 elites will be raised as soldiers.
