    Human/Mystic A/M

Just wondering how much fun (or none at all) a Human/Mystic A/M might be...

    Pros:
    - 6/0 offspec (racial)
    - +50% instant spell dmg (racial)
    - +10% pop (racial)
    - Tree of Gold, Fountain of Knowledge (racial)
    - Meteor Showers (perso)
    - Guilds/Towers are twice as effective (perso)
    - +50% duration spell dmg (perso)
    - +1 mana/tick in war (perso)

And with +50% sabotage, you can even do a little extra thieving dmg in a war, if needed...

    Cons:
    - the 5/5 elite, dunno if attack or defend with them. While cheap for elites, they're still meh imho
    - thanks to that elite you're not an ?ber attacker, luckily the 6/0 offspec kinda helps here
    - humans no longer have an income bonus

    Opinions?

I'm no number cruncher, nor an expert on the game, I just like pointing things out and see where they go :P

You'll have less income through ToG if you're casting a lot of combat spells. Without ToG, once you factor in drafting and training +10% more military and paying more wages a human's not really competitive with a dwarf or orc in terms of cost per acre to train and build in a war situation. Then again, mystics usually sacrifice some economy to their magic capabilities. Also, the human's spellbook isn't great compared to an elf. Even a dwarf has fool's gold, but humans have no unique combat spells.

    explore, tog, bottomfeed, wizziepump, sciencepump.

+50% sabotage is pretty much worthless due to the cap on thief ops, though it makes Human riots pretty useful - if they can put together enough thief power to use them.

Human elites are good for turtling and flexibility in how much defense you can keep at home. You definitely do not want to have something like 40 at-home dpa, especially with Mystic.

A likely option for humans is to come into war with an attack-oriented build, and try to prevent being chained. You probably can't come into war being good at both the mage and attack aspect, so best to pick one to emphasize, and work on bringing up the other as the war progresses - this is where the elite's flexibility comes into play, as you can sit behind a higher-than-average defense without sacrificing too much potential offense. You can still get chained, but if you kept a general or two at home you'll be able to ambush or make landgrabs provided a moment to deal with overpopulation, due to the human's 5/5 elite. If you don't get chained, prepare larger quantities of towers and you'll be able to throw plenty of ops around, while your cheaper military and elite defense is tougher to wear down with nightstrikes. There are other ways to go about a human, and I can't think of all of them.
