    Faery/Mystic

Played the game for a long time, been an about two ages since I've been full t/m, and I still have the same question I did then. Are homes necessary for a faery? I didn't seem to have anywhere to fit them into a war build. Any opinions on this?

Also, a question on draft rate and some population numbers. Running 3 rwpa, 4 rtpa, and 100dpa+ viable?

Necessary? Not at all. They're decent for a t/m, though.

    25(with science + mybe a little science): 7pes/acre, 4.5tpa, 4.5wpa, 9epa

    4.5 * 1.1(inv) * 1.9(sci) * 1.38(TD) * 1.3(Racial) = 16.87 tpa
    4.5 * 1.1(MF) * 1.9(sci) * 1.3 = 12.23
    9 * (1.05(gp) + 1.076(wages) + 1.16) * 8 = 92.6 dpa

    or...

    4 * 1.1 * 1.9 * 1.38 * 1.3 = 15 modtpa
    4 * 1.1 * 1.9 * 1.3 = 10.87 modwpa
    10 * 1.286 * 8 = 102.88 dpa

So yeah, deffinetly viable. This is without honor too.

I used 10% Homes as Faery/Mystic last age.
Only dropped it a bit in the end when I went with more Libraries instead.

I don't know how your war build looks like, but I managed to keep them at all times.
I'm not sure if Homes are necessary, but I like to keep some when playing TM to increase BE somewhat.

3 WPA + 4 TPA should be no problem at all. But it will depend on the DPA you are aiming for and the amount of Honor and Science you have.

So what sort of build would you need to achieve these numbers?

    10% homes or more?

I was thinking something along the lines of:

8% farms (will decrease as food science increases)
    10% banks
30% guilds (just switched to new kd, so still pumping wpa and they want to war again asap)
    17% towers
    20% thieves dens

This leaves me with 15% buildings left to play with. I could stick 10-15% homes in or forts or increase something already built? Suggestions?

I managed with 15% towers last age. (Mostly MS/Greed) You might need saved up runes and some robbing of towers in the start, but 15% should mostly keep you floating.

When you reach the WPA you want, 15% Guilds should be enough as well.

Currently I suggest you follow Avengers suggestion and get Forts and Homes. Forts might be more important to stay ahead of the attackers in your range. Depends on your situation I guess.

As a Faery/Mystic you don't need that much stuff. I'd recommend something along the lines of:

7% Farms (Don't need anymore than this)
15~17% Banks (Allows for you to get more income for dragon funding etc)
12~14% Guilds during war for Mystic double bonus (30%+ only outside of war when wizard pumping)
14~15% Towers because Mystics get double bonus
15~17% Forts (Boosts defense without increasing NW which is good)

Now you have 30% to 37% room to work with for Homes, TDs, WTs (to help keep Halflings or other super thieves out), and Libraries (For later on when sciences get better)

that was assuming like 15% forts and 20% TD. Homes would get you there quicker, since i gave 25 ppa which requires science + a little honor to get to as a faery. However, your wpa won't be up to that high for a bit, so as your wpa goes up, your science/honor will as well(although 7 pes/acre only gives you 70 BE, so i was also assuming atleast 10% BE science, so might need a few more peasents while wpa is lower instead of elites).

A lot of people really dislike homes, but I think they are viable on faeries(very low %, like 5-10%) until you have science and can convert them to libraries. 20% TD should let you not lose too abhorant an amount of thieves, especially sicne you can send less thanks to +30% damage. That being said, you could deffinetly get the type of numbers you want without ever having homes at all.

well just for information i got a faery/rogue at the min with 130dpa 22mod tpa and gonna be at least 10mod wpa (depends on next war) and thats with more realistic sci levels in thief and mage for current time during age and being non-sage.
So in a nutshell very achieveable and im running homes :p
