Whispers were the aggressors as they waved Psych Ward looking for a war mostly using trad marches combined with a few ambushes as retals started coming in. Psych Ward employed the use of ambushes on a much larger scale looking to kill some offence and control some of the gains that Whispers were taking during the hostile period. After 30 hours of hostile however, Psych Ward hit the button!
January 17 of YR2 Psych Ward HOSTILE has declared WAR with our kingdom!
Both kingdoms went with a mixture of semi chains and deeper chains over the duration of the war but with Whispers being more active, combined with their multi taps, they were much more effective at doing both. They targetted provinces based on off/def ratios, length of army being out and with the least incoming acres to maximise the effects of their semi & deep chains.
They used their mana to primarily focus on MS along with MVing their own provinces to keep any duration spells off as long as they could. As Whispers were chaining they felt that they reached a state where they chains started to really taper off and they werent able to push provinces down far enough. However, this changed as they had three provinces that were in protection at the start of war. Once these provinces came out of protection, they had been asked to set up and train offence so they could help further chain provinces down in Psych Ward. This gave them an instant ability to really pull the chained provinces down further while boosting their own provinces that had come OOP both in terms of acres and honour.
Dragons were a rather unspectacular affairs with both kingdoms sending two as both had killed the first dragons they had received. Psych Ward used their faeries to ToG to help pay for the second one, which made the decision as to which type of dragon Whispers were going to send the second time round. They went with a gold dragon to try help control the economies of the faeries.
After roughly three days of war, Psych Ward threw in the towel giving the win to Whispers.
