agree, they are weak compared to the rest and the thievery bonus is not a usefull match

If you suggestion is for somebody else to come up with a serious suggestion for avian improvement then you're in for a disappointment. I recommend that you take some time and think about this yourself. Then post it here and let us comment.

I must attack hard with my province. I must attack harder than my enemy who is trying to pk me. I must pk him before he pk's me. I will...

Given the current race roles you need to look at having avian as a/t. CS isn't an a/t spell.

Immunity to ambush is an extremely strong ability. I'm not sure it's a good idea to bring that back. You'd have to assign a nerf to balance for it at the least.

why give an attacker a gains nerf?

I'll McGovern you up, son. Wait, you know who McGovern was, right?
Last age avian rogue was fun to run. This age it isn't. Sure the increased thievery damage bonus is nice, but that doesn't allow for enough thieves to actually get usable tpa. Hybrids need an efficiency bonus. So, imho, last age 6 point spec + army boost with fanta + slighty faster attack times (less racks needed for 8hr attack times) made for a better a/t than this age's avian. (And that's not even mentioning the 7/2 elites, hybrids need to be able turtle at points, avian just doesn't allow for that, this age's avian hybrid will be the first target in war)
With last age changes classic race roles were hapilly ignored. Why bother with them next age? Just turn things back how it was, don't have crappy unusable a/t bonusses that make races allround sucky. Allow potentially solid attackers (avian/undead/human of previous ages) to sacrifice offense/damage to be hybrid instead of weakening races efficiency so much that there is a giant gap between full attackers and hybrids.

http://www.upoopu.com/: an intel repository (or: "pimp alternative") for utopia (read the guide).
How about you just go with what i suggested, cos that is what is going to happen?

Regardless of any side thievery bonuses, speedy attacker tends to fall into two categories as a whole:
Either it's good enough and defaults to being the "obvious" choice for the age
or
It's not, and falls into the unpopular range where everyone complains that it's too under powered.
That said, if you want to "fix" Avian, just make it so that their thievery bonus allows them to extend the cap on thievery ops.
pro tip: Humans are getting 2.2% AWs
Don't know what is going on with the rest of the ops. All gains increases should mod the cap, as should the gains reduction of WTs.

Avian
Bonuses:
* -25% attack times
* +30% sabotage damage
* All intel is accurate
Penalty:
* No access to stables
* +10% military upkeep costs
Other Information:
* Offensive Specialist: Griffins (5/0)
* Defensive Specialist: Harpies (0/5)
* Elite Unit: Drake (7/5, $850, 5.25 nw)
* Spell book: Town Watch, Invisibility, Reflect Magic
Because Avians fly... they have a good vantage point to get accurate intel.
And that would go along with these personality changes:
Warrior
* +10% enemy casualties
* +15% OME (in war only)
* -50% land lost when ambushed
Tactician
* Gain 50% more Specialist and Building Credits
* -15% attack time
* Enhanced conquest range
Cleric
* -50% Your Military Casualties (on attack or defense)
* Troops lost on attack or defense converted to soldiers
War Hero
* +50% more bonuses from honor
* -50% draft cost
* -50% train time
* +1 General
- "He's kinda awesome..."
A damage bonus to theiving feels a little underpowered on an attacker, unless your kingdom is ornganized and you dont have to do any scouting. Maybe giving an increased success chance on intel gathering could be more benificial.
