    Intel gathering HELP!!!

Can you guys enlighten me on this age's intel gathering?

I've always read in the forums something like this: 20% + 1 thieves = max 3% error.

I just took an intel with 20% + 3 thieves and my result for a province's def was 2769.

A tact took his intel and showed 4928. The diff is outstanding. I still have my page there untouched just to be triple sure I did not send the wrong amount of thieves, etc.

Had a guy bounce because he didn't realize that the 20%+1 thieves means 20% of your own thieves, not 20% of enemy's thieves or 20% of acres.

people tend to add 1 to hedge against rounding errors.
This is my province. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My province is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
My province, without me, is useless. Without my province, I am useless.
I must attack hard with my province. I must attack harder than my enemy who is trying to pk me. I must pk him before he pk's me. I will...
