Utopia and IRC

So I've been using IRC for utopia as long as I can remember, it being an awesome tool for communication. I recently came back to utopia, taking over a ghetto. My issue now is to convince a big part of my kingdom to use IRC, the main issue is what words to use for them to actually be wanting to use IRC.

I'm referring to stuff like it being the best tool for communication along with the access to a bot(hoping to get rid of pimp and only use bot), but it's simply not enough for some stubborn people. I need some suggestions how to make it look as awesome as it is.

People are lazy, provide a java client (or a mibbet-like join link, such as the one in my sig) so they dont have to install anything to get them to join initially.

Try linking the exact mibbit link for your chanell at top of orders thread like Bishop suggested. Works well in that type of kd.

Skype is about as useful as live messenger. I.E it is not useful.

If you really want the nubs to come to IRC just say that you have changed your mind because most the people in irc would be a bad influence on your kingdom mates...they will join right away :)

You prob attract some people if you get the bot linked to some external site and really show them how it all works.
Also making irc look a bit better and make it easier. Download a script like nonamescript. Show them screenshoots.
Get a trivia and poker bot and other silly things.

There should be more then plenty of ways to get them there.

There is no current communication method more suited to Utopia than IRC. And how exactly would joining a channel to talk openly with the game's best players be a bad influence? You're just taking your personal experiences (i.e. people not liking you) and trying to blame IRC for it, which is just dumb.
