They do not. Soldiers also aren't the best at dodging, just fewer for the meteors to obliterate.

you don't. the troops out on an attack are safe, so having all ur offense out is strongly recommended as an attacker.
T/M'S and mystics need to offset the lesser attacking power somehow, it comes through opping.

best way to counter meteors is to keep retraining, and account for the lost peasants as best as possible.
MS is highly random, so if you're lucky and the duration is short, you can often tank it easily, rather than rushing for an MV
additionally, having a good wpa and magic shield might cause more meteor attempts to fail, though it's very hard to attain serious protection without being a mystic or faery. if you can bounce two MS attempts, you're very lucky.

Just massacre the person casting on you. Eye for an Eye. If you are too small to break the defenses, then just tough it out, keep a constant retraining schedule and log in as much as possible. Keep LP up and the usual spells.
This is just one of many reason why high offense strats win out over high defense trats. Just run higher offense and work on armies in/out. Then your MS losses will be minimal
