Unusual Dilemna

So I have an unusual problem (or at least one I have not seen posted about before.) Here is my dilemma: I am a pretty good player, very active, that used to play back in the early ages. I have come back to play because my brother started again. He landed in a small kd and invited me so I came. By small, I mean we are one of the worst kds in the world in terms of networth. I am coming OOP about 3/4 of the average players size. Yes, that is out of protection, and yes ,3/4 of most players size. In a week I will surpass many of them if I so chose to.

Question being, I of course want a good kd, and realize that takes time. What are some fun goals I can work towards to keep myself from going insane while we lose good players to inactivity or real life and slowly build towards a solid warring kingdom?


One question in particular: It has been awhile since I have played as stated...how much honor would I get from outgrowing most of the kd with my brother, and bottomfeeding on other kds biggest guys during our wars? Anyone tried this with any success?

If I were you I would focus on growing your smallest provinces in the KD... send them aid; find them good targets give them advice on their builds etc

If you want a good kd, just use the recruiting system. If you want a kd that's decent but that you built it's normally better to random into one that already has an ok core. It could take you a realllly long time to make a complete bottom ghetto into something enjoyable without having the ability to recruit a lot of good players.

And no, bottomfeeding doesn't give much honor, although it does give land/kill troops.

Topsy: I understand the recruiting system works that way, but have somewhat been against it for personal use. It seems almost like cheating for me (guess old habits die hard.) As much as I appreciate the advice, I would rather have fun while buildilng up the current kingdom.

Dexter: I would say our monarch is energetic. :-) I think he might be a newer player, but he loves the game so I have no intention of hurting that for him.

Shaz: Thank you for your kindly offer. As far as I am concerned, I already feel a small bit of loyalty to this kingdom. I believe my brother and i have already convinced some new promising provinces to stay with us, so would feel dirty abandoning them. If, however, we have several defects and the provinces we are trying to help just give up, I would gladly consider your offer as I would no longer feel a connection for the kingdom. (Hope that makes sense.)


So, honor-whoring might be hard to do....but if I go networth whoring as I have done before, I usually have some super kds finding my high networth province in a ghetto very tasty....anyone successful at pulling off either high honor or high net worth in a low kd?

Stay so small that you're out of range of everyone and you'll never face honor losses to attacks. You should realize that you can very easily be killed doing this.

i have also built up a kingdom in the old ways takes time and perseverance from the few you have and build on a core there. i have 15 out of 25. we are only a 20 kingdom. i have invited two from a kingdom. that was miserable from a war we had. the monarch was unfair and did not care. a good active monarch makes a difference as in any age. networth is good if you desire size, if you desire honor stay small like palem stated i have some high ones from small provinces. good luck and enjoy.

Palem: Thanks for taking time to respond. I am, however, not confused by your terms (as I know what both are) but am curious as to what exactly qualifies as "bottom-feeding." Surely you are not suggesting that hitting any province smaller than you grants you no honor. Do you know of any formula that works for honor? Obviously, hitting smaller provinces gives you much less honor, but maybe if I could hit provinces 3/4 of me that would grant some (albeit little) honor?

I would be extremely grateful for any honor formulas provided.

Max honor gain is 90% of your networth. Hitting someone half your size results in 0 gains, twice your size is 50% gains. roughly.

Thanks Bishop. The information helps a lot in terms of my thought process about what do do next round.

fwordz: Yes, war wins would help, but in a small disorganized kingdom, it is hard to even stay equal with other kingdoms in war, much less win :-) Someday, though, I feel we will make it to wear we trample other kingdoms. Until then, we try not be trampled ourselves ;-)

A bit late, but I've done this a time or two, but grow a little bigger than the biggest in the KD (along with your brother and anyone else that's active enough and willing to go along, like your monarch perhaps?) and kinda pump while you formulate a plan and try to get others on board. But set an acre limit about 75-80% your size, and tell them that once most get there, you'll try your hands at waving a KD and see where you can bring it.

Don't actually plan to go to war, but with a goal of growing and waving, people get a little spark of hope now that they have something going for them though.

Throughout the whole ordeal, aid those that need it while pumping up your province to be a stalwart for your KD and have fun :)

If you want people to stay with your kingdom, they need to have that same feeling of loyalty. The best way to do that is to talk with them and be friendly. If they don't come on chat, message them and ask if they need any help as others have said.
