I was thinking about simians, then it made me think about roosters. This quandary made me think about the old chicken or the egg dilemma.

AFAIK The rooster must have came for the egg to be fertile. This means the rooster came before the chicken, but the egg came before the chicken. The first chicken must have been created using artificial insemination.
