You CAN attempt to take over a channel as a SOP. You did just that. Redirecting a channels traffic, setting a limit, and banning everyone out of the channel while creating a new channel for the "same thing", is exactly that. Patrick isn't the one that looks stupid here. But you should be used to looking like a moron on a regular basis.

I've been an old time user on dal.net and efnet, and some opers there would k-line you at the drop of hat.
Be glad he had a somewhat valid reason to do it. Some opers will k-line you just because it's their birthday and they want to k-line you for lols.
Anyways deal with it and move on. It's no big deal really.
