Not much to do. No idea your size, but 5k also isn't a very large amount(unless your one of the absolute smallest kd's in the game). Beat them harder, pump, get auto-ww. Or else, make sure your attack times are on convenient 12 hour schedules and chill in war for next month.

acres don't win wars. if they have intact t/ms and unbreakables, they can keep in a war for a long time despite the acre disadvantage. the obvious if not helpful answers are to take down their top defenses, and/or build up your own provinces in order to take down their big defenses (both military defense and thief defense). if it's just them being stubborn there is no need to panic.
If you want out and they won't w/d. Then you either beat them or w/d yourselves.

if you're ahead in acre exchange, go for learn attacks, many people get pissed off when their precious science being raped off... and aid all you can on your biggest province to take out their T/Ms..
Get your T/Ms unbreakable to maintain land and NW growth.
stop whinning about it and beat them or withdraw yourself. but if its the same that we are in you can bet we will not withdraw first so. your avian kingdom will fall to this gold dragon or the next its up to you.
To avoid being bottom fead on.... be number one... if you can't do that then just expect it.. and plan for it build more offence... and kick their teeth in...
Thank you for the advice, they gave up finally. Final total had us up 7k acres and about 75 attacks.

ok how did you get 7k acres in 75 attacks? kind of low number of attacks for that amount of land.

ermm, maybe they're small KDs to begin with..? what so weird in getting 7k land in even 100 attacks if the average province size is around 800..??
