    Age 58 proposed changes

    Hi folks - please use this thread to comment on the proposed changes for Age 58. We are looking for input on the war win formula in particular. This thread typically grows pretty big, so please keep your comments as on topic and constructive as possible.

    When I saw this thread I was excited to think the proposed changes were already out.... was a nice 5 seconds :)

    I propose we go back to 3 strong specs (because its fun!)

    You might want to add Age 57 race stats as a point of reference.

    Race changes are pretty bad. Very boring and doesn't do a lot to change the landscape of what we've seen this age. The nerf to humans might make the whore kds choose something else...maybe.

    As long as the explore cost is curved, there will always be a point at which it's a better idea to double up rather than to consistently keep exploring. A linear cost really solves the doubling up issue.

    I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for as far the war win formula? Do you want people to give you ideas of how to turn your ideas into a formula? Or are you fishing for other components to go into the formula? Do the devs have a general idea for a formula already?

    I'd just like to say that giving back the 50% bonuses to Elf and Halfling, along with TPA/WPA mods to Faeries, vindicates myself and everyone else who said those changes were terrible last age. I don't see why you expect us to have a 'serious discussion' about changes when you obviously do whatever the hell you want and ignore us entirely.

    These changes are almost entirely ****. The only good ones are the reversals I mentioned above.

    Bishop and the gang,

    Even without any extreme changes, this time around i think you guy managed to balance it pretty well.. A small suggestion to it would be about letting the Human retain their 10% pop.. Besides, a 2% pop difference is not that much...

    So this age is changes is basically undo the global nerf to spells/ops last age, and either slightly increase every races biggest strength or weaken thier biggest weakness. Also not changing the explore mechanic enough ;/

    The explore formula curve will be modified so as to reduce the cost wall/jump. We will continue to utilise relative size to modify costs.
    I sure hope you guys actually fix this problem. These are the explore costs at 50,000 acres:
    May 12 17:47:16 <TiLL> Exploration Costs (Gold) 77,999,226,241,717,712gc per acre
    May 12 17:47:24 <TiLL> Exploration Costs (Soldiers) 161,489,081,245,872 per acre

    hm nothing spectacular , or anything that will change anything we have seen this age , even with the -2 % pop now on humans , they gonna still be whoring kds pick .Faeries are nicer now imo ..but overall boring changes . Hopefully final ones will be better so that will make ppl think new strats ,and not reuse the ones they picked this age.

    Only reason I'm sticking around is because you said something about a "re-jig" after age 58. Please make it drastic?!?!?!

    Cleric needs a small nerf. The losses to -40% from -50% and it's OK I think. Looks fine otherwise.

    Especially now that warrior's bonus has been downgraded...

    Now lets address the topic that is on everybody's mind for Age 58: Will we see Dark Humans?

    yea.. i do.. moreover when warrior's OME bonus reduced to 15% from 20%...

    they should remain its 20% OME bonus.. cleric already has 3% OME bonus from its 1 extra general.. plus 50% lesser casualties, i guess it really does overpowers a 15% warrior..

    extra:

    Elf's +1 mana recovery in war should be changed same as Halflings..
    Rogue's +1 stealth should be changed same as Mystic's..

    Elves
    +1 Mana Recovery per tick
    +50% WPA
    +1 defence specialist strength

    The Rogue
    +1 Stealth recovery in war
    Access to all thievery operations, including 3 unique to rogues: Greater Arson, Assassinate Wizards and Propaganda
    Thieves Dens are twice as effective (subject to DBE)

    @Mastakizzor that would just encourage no warring and dicing so I do not like that idea. Should be war only.
