There were a couple of prime 20s this age. But mentioning that can be deceptive; there's an undefeated war kingdom that faced Stronghold25 who was 20 just before war. They recruited 3 more provinces and eventually won that war.
I was in contact with a player from Stronghold because I was curious about this 20 kingdoms capabilities. Last I knew they were 6/6.

I'm not saying either this or that. These are just the #'s collected and you can read them as you wish.

As for what size KD's should come in, some say it will not depend on number of KD's but rather number of good leaders. And if you make more kd's it will be less skilled leaders to lead them and the same ghetto vs top would arise. In relative power it would also be worse having 19 provinces going again against 20, rather than 24 against 25.
Anyways, I leave the decision of size up to the Dev's as I'm not really sure what is the best for Utopia.
(I do however agree with Pyre that KD's should auto fill to the same size.. but maybe they keep it at 20 intentionally to create a divide of sorts)


Though I didn't have the time to collect these stats (Perhaps Devs or Bishop will know), I think there was a marked increase of Kingdoms with many wars (Say 5-6 or more wars). At the end of age 56 I don't think there was as many KD's who had fought that many wars.

Another thing you can see from these numbers compared to age 56, is that in age 56 there were 74 KD's with 24 or 25 provinces. At the end of last age there were 62.

I would love to fill up to 25 players again. If you have 4 motivated players for me I arrange the invites :)

It should always be that 24 prov kds get the players first and work downwards. A new player landing into a kingdom on 24 people is more likely to stay IMO.

edit: if you divide the costs by like 10 people it's under $5 per person to fill your roster.

You can build a KD w/o spending a cent. It just might take you more than an age if you arent merging.

At most you need 1-2 ages to form a kd for free.
