    OOP War Stratagy

My question is how does strategy differ from a war right OOP as opposed to one where provs are more pumped.

By my thoughts i assume that deep chains are almost pointless seeing as you can't get them low enough in acres to really get them much over pop and hurting. so semi-chains max gains would be better? Also i would think that Sapphire dragon could be a very good dragon to send out of the gate for TM's would not be that pumped on both sides giving you an advantage to hit in while making enemy TM's frustrated to land opps.

Those above are some things that i think would work well in a war OOP, what eles do people recommend as idea's for warring right OOP?

in-range hit each prov 2-6 times before moving on. Pick targets that don't have land incoming for a while. Pick high peasant targets. Overall it should be almost max gains. Emerald dragon usually. Do ops that focus peasants rather than troops (kidnap>NS for example, unless killing soldier pools). Activity is extremely important. Build good GS and barracks.

screw gs. tg, rax, and lots (lots) of banks. you could even war with protection build and do alright if it's early enough. later on fat provinces would build pure gs to hold on to their acres asap, while having the banks means that they'll have the economic advantage to do so.

it's almost better not to bother with dragons at all. the type to send is dependent on what build the enemy is using:
emerald for chain reduction, especially against provinces with no sustainability bonus (dwarf, human, and arguably orc to nerf their gains bonus)
ruby if you have a lot of attacking firepower and want to get maximum results early in war
gold if both you and enemy have economic builds, with a focus on making sure they can't send their own gold dragon before you. it doesn't look impressive at first, but if enemy tanks gold for too long they are losing a lot of economic potential
sapphire is especially useless in OOP wars, because it's easier to engineer your t/m provinces to wizard or thief pump or have a better strategy oop. it's amazing how many faeries and halflings are vulnerable to thieves early on. t/m against attackers isn't particularly problematic.

look for any t/m gaps and exploit them mercilessly

get crime and channeling science on your specialist thieves and mages asap, even if it means running science in war. getting crime/channeling on dwarf, human, and avian attackers is also helpful for exploiting those who didn't get crime/channeling early.

it is helpful to hold on to some science books rather than invest them immediately, in case you suddenly need to invest in crime/channeling in order to fight a war. human and faery usually don't have to bother and go straight for alc+housing. elf and halfling should be aiming for crash investment in crime/channeling even if they're not fighting an early war.

follow the rule of doing max damage with each individual action when in doubt, and build kingdom-level tactics around economic damage. sometimes that means chaining a province, especially a human, faery, or halfer, all of whom have harsh penalties for being hit. most often it means quasi-maxgains. think about peasant damage - if a wave of hits reduces a province from 8 ppa to 3 ppa, their income will get tanked hard, even if they don't overpopulate.

kidnap is your best friend, especially for t/ms that enter war with a lot of defense specialists and need to slay a dragon. replacing 4000 specialists with peasants gives your income a nice shot and takes away an equal or greater amount from the enemy. the abundance of specialists and soldiers is one of the reasons why early dragons are not that great.

Depends on how much you grow in protection. For example, if draft is going to be under ~50-5 and your not dorf, leaving arms in is normally a fine idea and let it fade out.
