No, people should honor the agreements made
Yes, dealbreaking is part of diplo and trying to crown.

If you finish #1, you deserve your crown.

winning a crown after a straight up deal break is practically impossible unless you deal break in last day of the age.

I'll McGovern you up, son. Wait, you know who McGovern was, right?
There is a few issues
1) many of the top 5 consider not crowning losing and take 0 pride in second place. Therefore they will ****play to getfirst.
2) the top kingdoms this agree are mostly brand new. Their reputations will catch up to them and they will be treated more harshly. Once again only flogger seems to have escaped the age with a good reputation and probably another top five finish...
My life is better then yours.
This perfect describe havoc leaders from last age and pew pew/stripers from this. Problem is people dont know how to use proper and fair diplo and its why we end with so big drama and unfair actions. Last age its start with Havoc double hostile this age with Pew Pew back stab his ally AMA for "help" Stripers and get second free WW from them. Till pew pew incident we had almost clean age if we don't count munk incident :P

In a text based game your word and honesty is what people can only base you character on ....... If you become dishonest that will colour peoples opinions of you for ever
IMPERIALS KLA
In love and war all is fair, even if dishonourable...Some chose to uphold the honour of a KD and some dont, its a war game and things happen... Cheating isnt and shouldn't be acceptable ofc.
Whoever works the game to their advantage deserves the crown, that includes breaking deals/CF's, backstabbing allys etc. so if AMA gets the crown they played a good age, regardless of honour/dishonour even though not all will agree and people call it **** play, as long as they don't cheat by the 'actual' rule set.
War is what happens when language fails.
Wonder if this age KDs will clean up their acts or keep on the trend of last age, wonder how many will hold grudges and how it'll play out.
Deal breaking is just a no-no though.
The top are just prisoners of their own moral code. They are so locked in how the game "should" be played that they have closed their eyes for the other options. If you put blind faith in the words of men you're destined to be betrayed by it at some point. Thank you all for creating a fun crown race for the ghetto spectator :D
Yep. I think what's missing here is that the diplo is designed, in large, to shield favorites. So you can say not crown worthy, but I see a glass ceiling crashed. So you sit in a gated community and administer rule, then one day a mob jumps the fence and it's on. Still an interesting game.
love that thick mahogany back with no belly carve or anything...pure thick wood ! The thing ROCK is made of !

The community never turns against anyone nor does the community ever action anything, that is pure ignorance but such can be expected from a n00b.
Most of the community that posts seems to think you played dirty and the win was worthless.
If people want to dealbreak or ****play to get crowns that can work for an age. However what are you going to do next age when no one gives you a break and takes you down. The top is a tightly knit group, not everyone likes eachother but there is a set if generally accepted principles and you do not **** where you eat.
These new kingdoms who were able to grow into the top the last few ages only managed so due to the decline of the game with more and more top kingdoms and leaders exiting the game. When you used to have 10 good kingdoms, age prior to last there were 5, this age that just ended there were 2-3. The charts still exist so someone has to fill up those spots which is part of the reasoning here.
Last age the element of surprise worked and the non-abs kds all made deals as their primary goal was not to lose to Abs so solidarity prevailed in the beginning. However with Abs gone and early positioning key with these mechanics the same play wont work twice as these overgrown but not talented kds will just end up becoming food as they will no longer get CF treatment they enjoyed in the past in common interest of focusing on Abs.
Proteus you are in some aspects correct here, however i don't think its a decline in the game even though player base has gotten smaller.. I believe its more that most players that are here now have been around for ages, which means without a proper alliance at the top, its anyones game to organise their KD and stay active, if you can manage that you got a good shot vs anyone and with a bit of luck you end up in the top.
SWEA, BB and AMA all did a good job up there i think but they were really the only KDs playing for growth in the last 3/4 utopian YRs of last age, hence they ended so far infront of others.
War is what happens when language fails.
It is easy, if you do not want to get dealbroken, then do not make deals. For far too long has the top been defensive anf bottomfed on poor smaller kingdoms instead of warring eachother. Last age was great for utopua, hopefully this age will see less deals made and more action in the top.
If you get dealbroken it is your own fault, why did you make a deal in the first place? It is a war game, not barbies perfect island, people will do kust like irl and do what benefits them and that is how it should be!
