Was just wondering if anyone knows if channeling science increases the effectiveness of ToG or is it purely based on your current income?

Channeling science does effect any spell effects. It will only raise your wpa to modify success rate (along with the rune bonus, obviously).

Alchemy science will increase your ToG results though, since it increases your income.

success rate doesn't factor in WPA for self spells.

I had actually heard that elves(when they had +50% wpa) had higher success rate on dice than any other race(aka the opposite effect of race with -% wpa), but i don't really understand how it would factor in since it's definitely not a 50% more successes. The effect of the -wpa effects seem more clear than the +wpa effects, even if they are almost definitely coded to do the same thing.

That's because people notice the negative more than the positive. The + success mods that the devs use now are the same as mehuls +wpa/tpa mods, they just use a different name (its the name in the game code). Similarly the old -wpa mod human used to have would affect its ability to cast self spells, although it was never an autofail (hence the "") like people claimed but was merely a mod on the spells base fail/succeed chance. Not really sure if channeling science is hooked into this though.

I assumed it did since they're both wpa mods.

I guess I wouldn't be shocked if they were coded differently though
