max gains question

i just switched from a/m to orc but i kinda forget where it caps on max gains. i keep telling my self +35%, but im unsure. thanks.

base gains are 12% and cap out at around 20% I believe.

I think the cap is:

min(your acres * .2, their acres * .2)

After reading this question, I'm curious as well.

If I have 1000 acres and my enemy has 1000 acres, are you guys saying the Max Gains is 200 acres?
And if that is the case, do I add in my Racial Bonus as an Orc after that?
And again, do I add in my Science Bonus after that?
So if 200 acres in the case above is the Max Gain, I could then add 200+Orc(30%)=260acres+Sci(9%)=283acres.
Is this correct??

Or are you simply saying that you will get your Max Gains by attacking someone that is 120% you size?

base gains are 12% so on a 1000 acre province you get 120 acres. The 120 acres are the number that is modified up or down. It can max at 200 (20% of 1k) on min at 0 acres.

There are more formulas there but my opinion is that are somehow outdated (can't back it up with numbers though, just a few observations)
I did a 200 acre grab last week while i was less than 1k so the 20% cap is on targets land only. I believe hitting 10%-15% higher nw targets than you gives better gains. Although that shouldn't happen based on the formulas on wiki.

The wiki formula should predict your gain to the exact acre, the formula is well known for some time.
