    Age 60 potential changes feedback

Please use this thread to give feedback on the the age 60 initial changes, which you can read here. This age we tweaked the racial mods to balance them more and added some fun stuff to the personalities, namely spells and starting resources. There is also, of course, the reduction of protection down to 24 hours and the initial starting build changes. We are doing this to enable newer players to grasp the game better and provide some fun faster.

    As always, please be constructive.

Personalities will grant bonus resources. For example: Mystics will get +200 wizards, Sages start with +40000 books of science, War Hero has +200 elites.
What about examples on the other personalities?

I like the idea of personalities having extra spells added to them that correlate some with their other bonuses.

Will the changed startup resources include more wizards than normal other than the mystic personality bonus? Will all provinces start with more than 20 wizards or whatever it was? If so can you tell us how many?

    Orcs
    +30% Attack Gains
    Free draft
    +20% Enemy casualties when attacking

    -20% science effectiveness

    Reflect Magic
    Elite: 7/1, 700gc, 5.75NW

    The Warrior
    +1 General
    +15% OME in war
    Enhanced Conquest range
    Access to Bloodlust
Starts with +800 soldiers and +800 specialist credits

As if orcs and warriors needed to be stronger... now you've added additional OME, enemy losses to orc, & BL? So imagine pumped orcs running around with 5 gens, massive offense, wider range of hits with +gains and +35% enemy losses with their 20% + BL (15%).

Couple that with some PF / BG / emerald drake... and you have a recipe for OP. I might look at changing them a bit so that we don't end up with 4.5k orc/warrior, a few elves/faerys/halfers + BB's dwarfs (since flogger has a secret love for dwarves)

I think Dwarf is getting hit too hard. This age it has been playable mainly because of their strong elite.
The free build is a minor benefit on small sizes. On large sizes (we're mostly talking the last few weeks of an age) it becomes significant for the whoring kingdoms. Banks benefit the most of it, although a rebuild for a bank still costs quite a bit due to raze costs.
If you look on an entire age, -10% gains also isn't very slim.

I'd tweak it to something like:
    50% construction/raze cost
    -10% gains
    6/3 elite, 750gc
(or 6/2 elite and remove the gains penalty)

I personally think human is much better playable now with the -5% penalty. Still a rough one but anyone able to get a load of science should be fine.

Sages -50% sci costs is pretty large. Should consider reducing it to 25% reduced cost and increase free books or add a 25% learn protection (which would make sense for sage)

I like the changes with personality. Makes it unique with short term and long term goals. Love it, finally some changes. I also like the spells being designed for personality/race as well.
Just one thing though, halflings look too good.

Undead seem unattractive this age too. There's no serious kd that consider warring with 3 generals so they are forced into Warrior ontop of having no ops it makes them rather stale to play. Give Undead some kind of attractive spell. Nightmare makes alot of sense in an rp sense. Pitfalls too

Wouldnt mind seeing human elite costs being lowered slightly. Even with tog they are stiol very expensive. Human has too much endgame and too little earlygame as is. 850-900gs per elite seems more reasonable.

Dropping dwarf elites 2 points on total? I feel if you drop elite value you need to remove gains penalty aswell otherwise it's not going to be picked by anyone.

Warrior is fine at 10% OME already. Dont buff them.

I already said I like the shorter protection, now I have to add I like the way we start next age too.

I absolutely love what you did to the personalities. The added spells and starting bonus just give them so much more flavor, I love it. The personalities seem a little more balanced too. Too bad sage will still be just a science farm late age. I really think some sci protection on a sage would've been a lot more useful than even more extra books. But apart from the sage, I love these changes.

I like most of the small balance stuff you did to the races too. Some races will be more usefull than others, but that's coming from a player in a ghetto interested in wars. I guess there will be uses for all races, though the dwarfs leets seem a little bit too nerfed. A 6/2 leet would've made more sense I think, but I didn't play a dwarf this age, nor have we encountered any that gave the kingdom real trouble.

1 question about them (seems clear, but would like it white on black), will the faeries spells be limited to the racial spells or will they get the spells from all the personalities too?

All in all, I like the changes and I look forward to next age.

agreed in general. Avian was better than dwarf to begin with, then they lose 1 point on their elite offense and defense? If anything, avian needed to be nerfed down compared to dwarf to -20% attack time and dwarf left as it was.
