I don't think you have anything to worry about. From what I remember reading, the only time logging on the computer becomes an issue is if you attack/op the same provinces within a certain number of hours or if you share resources between each other. Since he quit, I would assume you are fine.
If that was the only interaction you should be fine. Its not advisable to log in with someone else though.
