hmmm... news to me! So I imagine it also protects from Plunders, but how about Massacre and Raze?
GS do not protect against massacres. Pezzies, thieves, and wizards are not resources.
I think they lower raze losses, but not totally sure.
This is really surprising because it means two buildings do the exact same thing.
Oh really?
Try building schools and see how well that lowers your land losses.
They have similar functions, same as barren acres and farms, but that they are certainly very different buildings for different situations.
I chose it because they "do the same" thing, but are clearly very different.
barren acres: produce 2 bushels per day
farms: produce 70 bushels per day
banks/arms is more of an "actually achieving the same benefit" kind of deal lol
The benefit is protecting books, so the cost benefit calc is the same as banks + arms

You realize we're arguing about examples to show the exact same point right? lol
I can't see many places where I would build both schools and gs, unlike banks+arms or TG+stables.
Banks and Arms don't do the exact same thing. The end result may be the same, but that's very different than doing the exact same thing.
You're telling me that both guard stations and schools reduce science loss from learn attack, and I'm just surprised by that. (And yes, I'm aware they have other, different, functions.)
You don't have to get all offended and snippy. You're reacting like I said yo mamma is so fat or something. I didn't even criticize the game (much less you), per se. I simply said I was surprised that GS reduced science loss. I had always assumed that, because schools did so, GS did not.
