    Acres rushing OOP

    I'm considering rushing to 1k acres OOP, because I've never done this and thus have no experience I felt it prudent to ask. I understand that strategies will be subject to KD / Race / Pers and the rest but I would appreciate suggestions about the basic military/building strategy?

    I guesstimate an emphasis on retaining gains and with this in mind - will 25% Banks, 25% Forts be too high w/ depreciating returns? More arms to pump dpa? Anyway, comments and discussion on even the basics will be appreciated.

    I would very strongly suggest against trying to do that.

    If you're going to ignore that advice and do it anyway, you need to focus on offense, not defense.

    Okay thanks - I should've mentioned that my KD wants to push early acres (not just myself)... same result i suspect... hmm I'm glad I asked - one rookie mistake avoided. I won't go ahead with it, thanks for the heads up Palem and sorry neaderthal - still I'm sure you'll get your fill

    You can get away with a little bit of exploring early, but certainly not blowing up to 1k acres on just 24 hours of protection.

    Most people don't explore, so even if you explore like 150 acres each you'll be far ahead of the pack if that's your intention.

    If you push acres fairly hard (550 oop, going to 1k by 3-4 days later?) and push science hard at the same time, you might gain a decent benefit. Notice though, you won't have any real intent to *keep* the land, just to get science on a bigger base early on. Notice how you could instead be spending those explore gc on *more science* directly too, so the cost/benefit is tough to weigh out even in the rare case it works right.

    Even with 3 days protection this was difficult to do (I did once oop at 900 as faery attacker and stayed above 750). With the one day protection, only kingdoms that scare the living **** out of everyone else can get away with that kind of growth, and even they have to be really careful they don't get waved by another good kingdom.

    Also note, if you grow too big, all the plunder targets are too small. And early plunder can be great for getting that sci up quickly.

    Makes sense, I don't know how the sage 1b/3acres might swing that? I guess it won't be as significant until later in the age...? Regardless -- this goose ain't blowing up to 1k

    Care to share a protection build/strategy which accomplishes 70 OPA / 30 DPA @ 550/600 acres OOP?

    Everyone gets 4k credits. If you're in my NW range and have 30% more land, why should I hit you oop on that military?

    exploring in protection is bad. If I can quad topfeed you and you can quad bottomfeed me, I outgain. Protection is too short to explore now, you can't get a military advantage and wind up behind.

    OOP lone offense doesn't give safety.
