Since there's a considerable interest in the uto community regarding the current world cup, we have decided to set up a WORLD CUP PREDICTION COMPETITION!
We will start this competition on Wednesday 18th June, and hence from Australia vs Netherlands match onwards. This will give people enough time to start registering their predictions
How it works
- a list of matches will be posted daily, the participant is required to predict the score of the matches
- for group stages, 5 pts are awarded for a correct result (Win/Draw/Loss), 5 pts are awarded for a correct score (1-1, 3-1, 1-4, 3-3 etc etc). If you get both the result and score correct, you get an additional 5 pts for that particular match.
- points for knockout rounds (ro16 & quarters) will be doubled, while points for the semis & finals will be tripled.

Rules
- strictly no editing of any posts are allowed. any post that is edited WILL BE VOID.
- if you want to edit your prediction, you have to create a new post with your new predictions. and edit your old post and type 'CANCELLED'
- all predictions must come in 15mins before the match begins. any prediction that comes later than this cut off timing will not be considered
- it is highly suggested to predict all the matches for the batch of matches at once.
- if you forget to predict for a particular match, too bad it's your loss.
- you can join the competition any time, but the later you start.. the more disadvantaged you are.
Most Important RULE (applies from the 4th prediction match onwards)
- You have to use EXACTLY the same posting format as the example given. failure to do so will result in your prediction being VOID. I am not going to manually calculate the results from the 4th match onwards. I have made an excel sheet with formulas where all I need to do is just copy and paste the post you made, and the scores will be automatically generated. I dont expect to spend more than 5s in calculating the scores for each entry.
- it is HIGHLY suggested to predict all the current batch of matches at once, BUT if you would want to, you can predict the matches daily. BUT STICK to the FORMAT.

1st - 225 credits
2nd - 150 credits
3rd - 100 credits
4th - 75 credits
5th - 50 credits
6-15th - 5 credits

*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*
After the first set of 3 matches (holland aussie, spain chile, crotia cameroon), the whole set of the 2nd matches for all teams in the group stage will be released at one shot. So there would be able ~13 matches to predict at once. This will help out in administrating stuff :)
We would need EVERYONE to follow a fixed way of posting (to be explained) so that it would be easier to track scores. I would probably be setting up an excel sheet with some macros so that I can just record stuff easily :P
For now, stick to the 3 matches and post in whatever legible format that you like.
