At midsummer in Sweden it is customary to eat pickled herring, sour cream and chives, potatoes and strawberries for dessert. Midsummer is closely associated with just fresh potatoes, which gladly served with dill. Many drinking schnapps to the food.
Affiliated to the Midsummer is also a strong tradition of alcohol consumption in conjunction with the celebration, making midsummer to one of the times of year when most of drunkenness and fights occur.
Churches tried to stop midsummer.
The reason was probably to overcome the unruly folk celebrations which involved dancing in cemeteries, theft of sacred images and shameless songs.
Today we gonna dance around some flowerish pole, dine and sings songs and drink a ****load of snaps!
So to all swedes out there! Have a great day and be proud Swedes and vikings!
Glad Midsommar till Er alla!
To all others, do not wave any swedish monarchs on this day because then we will all come together and GB you till you disband.
Cheers
