    Attack Times/Gains

Players will be able to choose to extend or reduce their attack times to allow greater schedule flexibility. Additional hours will result in greater gains while minus hours will result in less gains and less enemy kills. The modified gains etc will be derived from the modification in attack time and will also be displayed.
So, does this mean that since we adjust attack times by 1h increments, that On-Island hits will both reap higher gains from +Attack times, but lower gains as well from -Attack times?

Its based on the change to your non +- attack time so yes. You'll still gain less than if you didnt use +- though as it is not designed to be beneficial to use except by allowing to make a hit you'd miss due to scheduling.

Just a another clarification. It says it impacts enemy kills, is it also self loss, eg you lose less proportialy with - hours?

THEY lose less. YOU do not.

There is no reason to use +/- hours unless:
    1) It allows you to make a hit you cannot otherwise make
    2) You can't make a second hit on that target (e.g. WD in 4h)
    3) You can't be online on troop return, so you're adjusting return time to fit your schedule.
    4) By using -hrs, you can beat someone home and stay safe.

So witih +hours you lose more troops and they do not.
On - hours they lose less troops and you do not.

    Is that correct?

i can think of plenty of reasons to use +/- hours besides those.

to answer OP: if you have lower attack time, then the gains modifier for added or subtracted hours is higher. it is designed so that you will never gain more from adding/subtracting hours than you would with normal time attacks in the same time frame. i tested and figured out roughly what the gains modifier should be, but the thread is lost somewhere.

There are plenty of bad reasons :p

Those are really the only good reasons.

No, only on - hours do enemies lose fewer troops. On +hours the losses are same as a normal time attack. Either way your losses are the same.

Sorry, for my original question I mean If I had two identical targets, the only difference being one is On-Island and one is Off-Island... Would a +1h on the On-island hit give me slightly greater gains than a +1h hit on the Off-island hit?

As you are discussing Casualties... Conquest. Attacker suffers higher losses & Defender suffers lower losses, or is it just one way (Only Attackers losses are higher, or Only Defenders losses are lower)?

Yes, because on-island hits have lower attack times. The bigger an impact the + hours makes on your attack time, the bigger impact the gains mod is.

So an Avian with 6 days attack time that adds 4 hours will get how much extra land?

Not enough to make it worth it unless you've got some other mitigating circumstances that leave you unavailable to make a hit again in 6 hours.

    found it:

    http://forums.utopia-game.com/showth...1#post15284579

that should give a rough idea of what gains will be when using added or subtracted hours. if it's wrong someone should test it.
