    Fun update:

Drunken Mythos RoRo spotted in war forums. Highly amusing vulgarity bomb exploded all over the place. Many casualties of amusement value, possibly a couple legitimately offended ladies, one guy most displeased with the RoRo's use of the n-word. Good times all around until the RoRo passed out and was heard from no more.

So we got the WW time to give a bit more details.

I would say the major events of the war were:

    - We were able to drop their TM defense in hostile so they were open to getting taken down in war.
    - We were able to get damaging deep chains in on top offense attackers who had no land incoming, multiple times.
    - We never had an attacker chained deep enough to release offense so even our chained provs could still do damage by hitting their TMs & razing up the NW chain.

    1. Pre war: We started war with offense advantage due to orcs. They started war with potential UB advantage due to much larger TM provs. They also had an overall science advantage and seemed more pumped. I know our KD grew a ton of acres over a week to get closer in range.

They had a core of human/clerics, we had a warrior core orcs/humans.

    2. Hostile: Hostile IMO was a big point where we executed better.

We knew we wanted an extended hostile so we could use our orcs ability to kill to bang up their TMs. We did raze bounces into their huge TMs then we focused almost all hits into TM provs. GBP stopped land gains but we kept killing defense. It felt like they spent hostile doing max land grabs.

We also got a nice boost here because we found a KD that exited war with tons of GC. We plundered something like 20 million gc in an hour, sent a pre-war sapphire and funded a 2nd one. Mythos responded by sending their own dragon and killing ours quickly.

    3. War: We planned to tank the sapphire, we knew about 2 days into war it would fly away on its own and their provinces were started to get fat enough we could op easily anyway.

Start - We entered war after teetering on max hostility points for over a day - we almost screwed up here because we were not ready to declare but got to a point where we were max hostile and couldn't hit them w/o going to auto war. They didn't take advantage of this like they could have and when day changed meters dropped and gave us more hits again.

I wish I had a chart to look at but I believe we entered war at almost a 15,000 acre deficit. I remember them being 60k+ acres and us being less than 50k acres. This was great for us - it let us eat a 1 way sapphire and still get ops off.

First chain - we declared war and their top offense human had 0 acres incoming with armies out for ~ 8-9 hours.

    3200 acres to ~400 acres.

You can also see a bit of what I mean about land gains, pre war he grew from 2500-3,300 acres.

Mythos seemed to be doing partial chains. My thought was that their goal was to create a NW gap between us and their high NW humans. They did this - kind of. Our large (nw) attackers were in the 300k range while they had humans crossing 500k.

Second chain. We did chains on the off wave, but knew we needed to do full organized op (NM etc) waves to drop these huge human provs. We had about 5 TM provs borderline UB at this point.

It magically seemed that every time we were ready to chain their next top offense, the guy had no land incoming. Seemed like they were scrambling to make up for their TM power being nuked, their large attackers were throwing 100% offense into hits into our nearly UB TM provs leaving them wide open to get really really painfully chained.

Next chain, same thing.. raze, NM, props, etc then chain. Another human had no land incoming ( we had to wonder if they were doing this on purpose)

5200 acres - 366 acres. No land coming, cya later.

At this point we had our big bank prov UB and about 4-5 TMs either UB or close enough to it that we felt they were safe. Kept pumping all the TM defense to secure UB while helping aid up chained attacker defense off land defense.

The whole time we did this, we kept putting hits into their TM provs to keep dragging them all down. The result was this (Taken now at end of war)

We had their faery open to be dragged down by our chained provinces. Even the higher defense ones still could be hit 1x then we could hit with spares for max gains elsewhere.

Commence the learns.. well pumped TM provs cough up a lot of science.

As Verm mentioned. At this point they had a bunch of huge provinces, anyone can see their KD page. We quit focusing on op chains and spent the next 24 hours doing population control. They had managed to feed a dwarf rogue of theirs to 180k defense making him UB - but he was also fat enough we could op through a 1 way saph still.

Nothing else was very interesting after that point.

    Oh my.

Sorry about that, I'm just on break at work. Congratulations Jesters!

I'll try to drink it the information, but I'm no good for retaining numerical things or thingys. Brilliant update at first glance, but it could be the rarest of magic items: the smoking mirror gun.

Just pulling tendons. Thank you for the detail.

Lol would be happy to expand on any questions, was a fun war.

I feel like the majority of wars in this game are nothing more than 2-3 days of trading waves and whoever secures the most UB provs first "wins". Usually the win is determined in large part by one KD having less activity than the other so in general just plain getting out hit.

hmm, seems weird for Mythos to fail on the execution side of things.

It was a good war, solid execution by Jesters! Jesters conducted the hostile much better than we did, by putting their big fae in vacation mode for the whole thing so we couldn't damage it, and by bouncing our UB fae's much more effectively.

Sorry about our drunken player who went on a rant in the War Forum... Actions will be taken!

To what I said about hostile, highlighting from that data dump:

    -1,180 Hofbrauhaus Munchen (0/5)
    -1,450 Southern Gold (0/7)
    -1,464 Punk IPA (0/4)
    -1,492 Amstel Radler (0/6)
    -1,946 Root Beer (0/9)
    -2,169 San Miguel (0/17)

Those were all faery TM provs. Big point to drive home is the focus on their TM.

Would be interested to know their thoughts, but my observation was that they thought they could find safety in a NW gap. They did partial chains instead of full chains dropping all our high offense attackers down into the 200k-250k nw range while their humans all got land fat sitting on 480-500k nw.

We were able to use razes & our giant ops advantage to still chain down the big humans and essentially sit and bottom feed without any recourse. The partial chains backfired because none of our chained/active attackers had to release any offense. When we chained their big guys, they ended up all having to release and go from 190k offense to 50k etc etc..

The recent improvement to Raze and previously to Massacre were in the spotlight during this war. Very nice to see some new tactics available in war that actually have a real impact when used properly.

Respect to Mythos for pushing on with the hostile as their T/M provinces were looking to be in danger and still giving the button when they could've easily backed off.

I really like their particular strategy involving their dwarves; something I won't go into detail on in public because that's trade secret biz, but if I read it properly, those dwarves would have been a menace had we not adjusted to them quickly and done what we needed to do to stop them as soon as we saw what could've happened. I'd like to see how that succeeds for them in the future.

In the end, it was a matter of unbreakables, as it usually is. Ours were harder, theirs were softer, networth didn't protect them as much as they hoped it would I think. Awesome fight in a compact amount of time.

I'm not making excuses, but there was activity issues with the Council on our end. Due to the activity issues, there was a slight inefficiency in orders, which caused the semi-chains instead of the deep chains. It's possible, if we had perfect activity in the Council, we could have won this war but in all honesty Jesters out played us!

We set up our strategies to counter the strategies we expected, but Jesters didn't war how we expected them to! And because of that, we lost.

Jesters didn't even war how half of US expected them to. Our war leaders pulled some pretty outlandish stuff that didn't look quite right at first glance, but somehow it worked like a charm.
