Help Me with The Virtual Kingdom, 66

    Hello.

Each age I put together a virtual kingdom designed as such:

    3x each race

    3x each personality

1x unique(represents monarch. Can't be the same race and personality of any other province in the kingdom)

    = 25 provinces

    Thank you for your input.

Edit for clarification: you can have, for example, 3x orc warrior. So you can have a race and personality repeated 3 times maximum. The 1x unique reference is for the 25th selection. The unique is simply a combination not yet represented in TVK.

...what is our input supposed to be? The whole kd's race/pers setup?

Yes, and you can explain your choices if you like. I kept it short to throw people off.

    Thank you.

And the big change is out! Time for me to research: my research centers on how I feel about each race and personality.

PS you can also suggest theme as I've got several in mind but none that strike me.

    let see

    -Elf: Merchant, Tact, Mystic
-----A/m attack and grow while requiring ops, provides MS to those who can RM
    -Feary: Sage, Mystic, Rogue
-----Dedicated Tank largest size low def, good mystic, ops attackers nicely
    -Halfer: Mystic, Rogue x2
    -----Good off mystic, dedicated AW'er
    -Human:Sage x2, Merchant
-----i'd have these guys never be fully trained, just focus on learns+hard to cast/op attackers that grow slowly
    -Orc: Warrior x3
-----breakers set as low tier 2 sized attacker such that when wars start they have mod off equal to your breakers. This means they are smaller nw than the undead yet have the offense to 100% 4 tap a topfeed person that got plague
    -Undead: War Hero x3
-----attacker that doesnt need warrior/cleric innately to sustain offense over time. Can use converts+free credit to sustain..i'd have them setup as breakers at the very top requiring chains asap.
    -Avain: Cleric x3
    -----basically need cleric to sustain
    -Dwarf: Tact x2, Merchant
-----similar to human setups, make them tanky/requirng ops based on a high homes/banks build with cs or tog to require ops
    -Extra: Elf-Mystic
-----KDs always need more MS power, and since im basically seting up as 6 t/ms in the halfer/feaery i dont need anymore pure t/ms....1 extra A/m with MS allows me to do that

Don't be bashful. I can see those undead and avian working a clamp. One can't be ambushed, the other can use war spoils. Keeps the avian BR in play.

Avians: Warrior / War Hero / Sage
Dwarves: Cleric / Tactician / Merchant
Elves: Rogue / Mystic / Sage
Faeries: Rogue / Mystic / Sage
Halflings: Rogue / Mystic / Cleric
Humans: War Hero / Tactician / Merchant
Orcs: Warrior / Merchant / Cleric
Undeads: Warrior / Tactician / War Hero

    Spare: Elf / Merchant

Only 6 of these are playing t/m. Maybe 5. Leave it to the reader to figure out which.

I only permitted myself to use the same personality 3 times, otherwise the setup is much different.

Don't try to grow too big. You'll get devoured.

I have REASONS, yes indeed I do.

(Well, Cleric sucks... so much that I wouldn't want to put it on my Humans, even though that meant putting Cleric on an even worse match. I put Cleric on the one race where it can be used to convert Halfer into a core attacker.)

So under revised rules I'd run:

    Avians: 3x Tactician
    Dwarves: 3x Merchant
    Elves: 3x Mystic
    Faeries: 3x Sage
    Halflings: 3x Rogue
    Humans: 3x War Hero
    Orcs: 3x Cleric
    Undead: 3x Warrior

    Monarch: 1x Avian/Sage

Explore up the Dorfs, Elves, and Faes first. All others go high offense oop. Don't try to mass explore cows early, just get them to 810-820 acres + dice acres and with decent defense, then supply soldiers to the rest of the kingdom. The rest of your kingdom gets better raw military oop so you should be good for the first day, try to make sure you have provs that retaliate anyone who would try to kill your explorers. The Orcs are the sorest part of this setup, 3 orcs is just asking for them to be negated.

Giving Undeads the Warrior personality is probably worse than Tactician, but it does mean that they have an easier time reaching t/m early war, and can 1x+1x a big defense and an attacker easier. Better to give Tact to Avian so you have the best chance of using massacre in war.

    Thank you guys. Brilliant stuff.

I'll be in seclusion in the West Wing designing The Virtual Kingdom.

    With thinking:
Firstly, fixing Elf - we need 3, the need to do something... super mage (mystic) it is. LS enemy T/Ms is actually kinda good.
Next, faery is awkward - these are the real T/Ms, I guess I'll give them rogue. Is that 2x prop per hour I see? (Is it more? I'm not totally sure.)
UD needs it's thievery fixed, so tact needs to go here.
Halfer will take cleric, might as well cover that hole.
Human is redundant with warrior, so sage is looking good here.
We'll run the orcs kinda backwards, use them as A/e provs with their native autofail, so put the merc here.
Dwarf needs the oomph so they take warrior.
Avian is left with war hero, but they are most likely to hit with dragon up so it isn't a bad fit either.

Now all that is left is filling the only hole left - monarch is an halfer rogue nearly pure theif - kill WT or AW hardened targets or whatnot. The faeries might have some trouble getting the raw TPA since they also need to use up all that mana.

Thus we have (in order of effectiveness/importance):
    1 Halfer rogue
    3 Halfer cleric
    3 Human sage
    3 Faery rogue
    3 Orc merch
    3 UD tact
    3 Dwarf warrior
    3 Avian war hero
    3 Elf mystic

I do feel sorry for the 3 Elf players - all age playing the hardest role, with so many problems... with the best they'll ever manage is not totally wasting the province slot. Takes some sort of special to play an age of that - not really sure what sort.
it's vs. its is ambiguous - from now on I'm attempting to use the proper possessive it's, and the contraction 'tis. (Its will just be the plural.)

    Think Different

Thank you, Ethan. I'm glad you dropped this in. I've been browsing the options and you're perspective ads valued consideration.

The Virtual Kingdom is also aimed toward enthusiastic play so the fun of playing a given combination is weighed.

Take care and don't be a stranger :-)

@ all. If it seems I'm kissing Ethans ass it's that he was in TFC. I give serious consideration to all the builds. If it seems The Virtual Kingdom doesn't look like your version it's probably because it's a blend of the builds offered. Even so, each TVK thread invites the posting of builds. I welcome all your perspectives.

    Thank you.

only gunna do war kd. it'd be different for growth oriented kd. Ofc quite a few choices are sub-optimal, but lead to better results than having the best race/pers combination and leaving something else with a more awful option. not too far off from ethan's:

    3 orc/merchant
    3 fae/rogue
    3 half/wh
    3 elf/mystic
    3 hum/warrior
    3 avian/cleric
    3 undead/tact
    3 dorf/sage
    1 fae/rogue or 1 elf/sage for monarch
