Still a chance for convention drama! Will Manafort save the day again or is Cruz's rat****ery too strong?

I am betting they will allow "conscience voting" in round one. Later rounds no one will agree on a candidate.

The thing people forget is that #NeverTrump has to be #NeverCruz, otherwise you've traded one rightwing dingbat for another and your party is down the ****ter just the same... so the Repubs have to pick someone with like 15-20% support in their own party, which shows just how they are totally invalid as a national-level political party.

Cruz has ideology consistent with most republicans. You are calling him a dingbat because you think the republican core is made up of dingbats. Rather than #nevercruz you should support Texan independence instead. If not Cruz Texas will elect a senator much like him.

That's because the republican core is wrong on a great many things, and it's hard to take a party seriously when they cheer on the gross wealth disparity in this country. (Yes, the Democrats are hardly saviors, but the GOP made itself the party of big business.)

There is no need to disenfranchise any demographic group. The wealthiest people should have a party. The 1% richest, another 2 to 5% aspiring to become richest, and maybe a few people directly linked to them (for example people who build yachts or butlers). If 4 or 5 senators supported and looked out for their interest we should still be able to get decent legislation.

The point being that if a party caters to only the upper and upper-middle class and that only covers 1-5% of the population, they're not going to have a lot of strength in non-gerrymandered elections. Hence why the Republicans have a shaky-ass coalition of groups that openly despise each other at this point, and Mittens desperately trying to keep that group together in 2012.

I had to do my very best and struggle through reading most of the posts in this thread because I didn't want to say anything that was ignorant or untrue when it came time for me to write my post. I am not here to represent any Party or any Platform. I am not going to try to change anyones mind on the issues that are being thrown around on this forum. All I am going to do is try to say how I feel and I won't post again after that.

I know there will be people that tear apart what I say and others that cheer and praise every word I type as the God given truth. There will even be those that ignore what I say all together. None of that matters now. This whole election has been brought to 1 single point for me. I watched the Republican Convention with great attention, hoping to hear something different, that might help my life and the situations that I face daily. Then I watched the Democratic Convention with the same hopes in mind. I weighed the 2 major parties of this country and just like every election cycle, I can find things on both sides that I would stand up and clap for. There are also things with both parties that I would be ashamed to say I supported. But out of both Conventions, one moment stood out for me more than any other.

I have listened for the past year or so to Donald Trumps ideas on how to help me deal with the rational, reasonable fears I have about all of the terrible things going on around me. Not just the stuff in Dallas and Orlando and Sand Hook. Or the things in Minnesota and Chicago and Nevada. Those are all here in America. I have listened to how he would handle my fears of Nuclear Weapons getting into the wrong hands and how he would deal with people with disabilities and women and Muslims. I have heard how he will deal with my fears over swelling Illegal Immigration in this country. He has spoken a lot about the things that I am afraid of in this World and how he would do particular things to make it safer or better for me and the rest of America. I then listened to Hillary Clinton talk about how great this country was and tell me that I shouldn't be listening to all of the negativity in this years election cycle. She's very positive and upbeat and smiling. It's almost as if she and Donald Trump are looking at 2 totally different worlds that we live in.

But I served proudly in the United States Navy as a young man. I served my country because I was poor and needed the training that the military would offer me. I know now how very lucky I was that I served during one of Americas brief moments of real Peace. I didn't see much real combat and never had to watch a buddy die or anything like that. But I did learn about the military and I did get to know men and women who gave their all to stand up for America and others that didn't have the strength to stand up for themselves. I served with a lot of Black men and Latino men and Filipinos and men and women from all nations that had came to America either as a child or their families had came right before they were born. They loved America so much that they wanted to serve in the Military to show how much of a Patriot they were. While I was there serving because I was too poor to go to college.

I watched a man at the Democratic Convention stand up with his wife, after he had lost his son to a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. He didn't look angry. He just looked hurt. He spoke at that Convention, but he looked at the cameras that were on him and looked through them and spoke directly to Donald Trump. He told Donald about his son, a man with a funny sounding name to this good ole boy from Alabama. His son's name was Humayun Khan. He not only was an American that came here as a small child LEGALLY with his Mother and Father. He was an American that decided to serve his country when he became a man. He died at the age of 27 on the field of battle, protecting his bases Gate. He told his men to get back and he walked 10 paces forward, toward the car carrying the explosives he didn't know about. He was killed instantly. His father stood and asked Donald Trump if he had ever read the Constitution of the United States that guaranteed his right to come to America and try to live the American dream. He said if he hadn't, he could borrow his copy and read what it says about this. He pulled a little booklet out that I recognized as a small copy of the Constitution a lot of immigrants get to try and learn what their new rights are. With a tear in his eye, as he held that copy out to the cameras he said this, and I will never forget it. He said, "Mr. Trump, you have sacrificed nothing." After that he just stared at the cameras with a look of Pride and Honor that I can't remember ever seeing before. He put his hand over his heart and told the Convention thank you and as his final words he said, according to Donald Trump, my son was not even worthy to enter this country now. Simply because he was a Muslim.

I sat on my bed watching this through eyes full of tears and realized that this time voting for President was different for me. This wasn't about Republican or Democrat. It isn't about War or Peace. It's not about Jobs or Health Care. It comes down to something so much clearer that those things. This time voting for the President would be about Right and Wrong. It was about how I felt about Muslims coming into my Country Legally and Mexicans coming in to my Country Illegally. Did I think this was right? I'm just a good ole boy from the deepest parts of Alabama. But my Granny raised me to recognize Right and Wrong when they faced off in front of me. This election cycle they are facing off in America. And it's not about Hillary Clinton and the things she's done wrong. It's not about the things in the Democratic Party that I totally disagree with. It's about whether I thought Captain Humayun Khan deserved to be called an American Hero or not.

Donald Trump clearly says we don't need his kind in America now because they might try to hurt us. Well Trump is partially correct. They might try to hurt us. But David Koresh and Timothy McVeigh both were born right here and they tried to hurt us, and succeeded. Charles Manson and whatever the guys name was that killed nine people in the African Methodist Church as they worshiped on a Sunday morning in 2015 were also born and raised up right here in the United States of America. If these men that killed so easily and caused so much pain with their hate were deserving of the title U. S. Citizen, then how could anyone in their right mind say Captain Humayun Khan deserved any less. Simply because he was a Muslim. Because he spoke a little differently than me. Because his skin was different than mine. It would have to take someone that was out of their mind to say he shouldn't be given not only the respect of being an American. But Captain Khan deserved to be called a National Hero and one of the greatest parts of what being an American really is.

Between Right and Wrong, I have to listen to my Granny. She died when I was 14 years old, but I can hear her saying this to me across the great divide. She says son, you listen to me close. You feel that burning deep down in your chest when you saw what happened to those people, just because of their skin color. That's how your Spirit talks to you. That's how you know what's Right or Wrong. You're old enough now that God is going to look at you for your Soul. You're old enough now that you feel that feeling and you know what's Right and Wrong. Donald Trump and his message of Fear and Hate and Anger and Division and Bigotry has to be judged this November by each of us that casts a vote. I say that if you judge him as Right, then cast your lot with him. I know what I feel in my heart when I hear his message. He's Wrong and many other things. But most of all he will NEVER get my Vote and I feel in my heart, he will NEVER be the President of the United States of My America!

I find things you just said sad. The fact you can't understand the difference between racism and border security. It is not racism to have laws and borders it's common sense. It's not racist to verify and check people coming from war torn areas to make sure their not the enemy. Trump never once said he would deport any citizen. Where did he degrade or even say anything you just said. He called for a temporary ban on Muslims from entering the country to fix the vetting process. Why is this a bad thing and how is it racist. Everything you just said is made up lies. Trump is the only candidate that actually gives a damn about us vets. He is the only one who promises to fix the VA, to increase our pay and disability benefits. Apparently you are swayed by lies and media propaganda. I find that just sad. In saying that I lost 3 friends in Iraq and where is their mention anywhere? Oh wait they don't fit your narrative so who gives a damn about them right? I am ex military and find Hilary Clinton despicable and should be in prison not in the white house.

I wrote in the first part of my post that I wasn't going to write any more posts after this 1. But you have swayed me into writing again, not by your logical arguments that I can't deny and not by your Patriotism. I am goaded into posting again because you chose to say "Everything that you have just said is made up lies." Instead of writing things that I know to be true, that I heard with my own ears, I will simply ask you a few questions.
    1. Do you know me or my Grandmother?
    2. Did I ever type the word "Racist" in my post?
    3. Did I type the words "Border Security"?
    4. How many Bankruptcies has Donald Trump Filed?
    5. How many lawsuits are pending against him in how many states?
    6. Did Donald Trump make fun of or belittle Republican American War Hero, John McCain?
    7. Did Donald Trump ever mock or make fun of a disabled reporter?
    8. Has Donald Trump ever talked ugly about Women, in general?
    9. Has Donald Trump stated that countries like Japan or Saudi Arabia should have Nuclear Weapons?
    10. Has Donald Trump said that he might not Honor or NATO Agreements if the NATO Members didn't catch up their back dues?
    11. Did Donald Trump say that in his 1st 24 hours in office that he would sign a Presidential Mandate tying Federal Funding to Every School in America being required to pass rules ALLOWING GUNS IN THOSE SCHOOLS(K-12)?
    12. Did I say at the beginning of this post that I was not standing for a Party or Platform?
    13. Did I say that Hillary Clinton had done a lot of things wrong?
    14. Did I say there were things on BOTH Party Platforms I would Embrace and be Ashamed of?
    15. Again, Do you know me or my Granny?
    16. How can you call the thoughts I have for my Grandmother LIES?
    17. Did I ever try to say anything about any other Soldiers that had died in combat?
    18. Did I sound disrespectful of any fallen Soldiers Honor?
    19. Have you ever heard a Politician make a promise and then fail to keep it?
    20. What is the Unemployment Rate in America right now?
    21. What was the Unemployment Rate in America in January 2009?
    22. Did Donald Trump say the he alone could solve the problems facing America today?

After you answer or Don't answer whichever of these questions you decide are important, please don't try to sway me. Just let this pass away. I am not trying to sway you. I think if you feel Donald Trump is the Right choice, then go cast your lot with him on November the 8th. I like millions of others will cast our lot with the one we think is Right. That is how the system works in America. Please stop trying to goad me into an argument. I wanted to state how I felt and then go away. I am not interested in a long, drawn out argument with you. I can tell you feel strongly about this. Can't you tell I do too? You have every right to cast your lot with Donald Trump. I have every right to cast my lot with Hillary Clinton. Is it possible to rest on that one thing we agree on and move on? I doubt it, but I really do hope so.

    1. No,
    2. Bigotry is another word for racism.
    3. You are obviously confusing border security and in your words spreading Bigotry and hatred.
    4. Donald Trump has never filed bankruptcy. 4 of his his businesses failed, but seeing they where casinos they are directly tied to the economy. Same economy that Clintons, Bushes and Obama destroyed.
    5. Lawsuits follow rich people in business. Seeing he is incorporated he has zero following him actually. How many criminal investigations has Hillary Clinton had over the years?
    6. No he said he preferred his American heros uncaptured. He has a point after all who surrenders? A true warrior fights to the death.
    7. No the fact is he didn't even know who the reporter was or that he was disabled.
    8. Talking about a T.V show again. It was called the Apprentice where he said things that where just for T.V. Lastly how many woman attacked him and so what if he fights fire with fire. Women are equil in every way but yet you can't insult their looks?
    9. His point is we can't afford to defend them anymore. That they need to stand on their own two feet. So whats worse Obama's plan to let Iran have nukes but you draw the line at Japan a allie getting nukes.
    10. Correct because NATO is worthless and we pay for them. We cant afford to continue blowing money on the dream that is NATO.
    11. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Yes I would feel much safer with a security guard or teacher with a gun at my son's school.
    12. Don't remember haha.
    13. Don't remember lol.
Your Grandmother sounds like a amazing woman who was very intelligent. I was saying you are basing your views of Donald Trump off lies by a crooked media. If I went off what the media said I would find Donald Trump revolting and never vote for him. Instead I have watched his rallies and heard his message. It's about making America great again for all citizens. Granted for citizens and not illegal immigrants. As for Unemployment is extremely high in this country but the government only counts the people on unemployment benefits in their statistics. The real number is around 25%. All that being said I would never insult anyone's family. I was simply pointing out your view of Donald Trump as a hateful bigot is do to a corrupt media that lies. Anyways I wish you the best of luck but remember Hillary Clinton voted for Iraq war, left brave Americans to die in benghazi and will cut government spending to both our military and VA. But hey you vote the way you want too it's a free country after all. :)

I wish the Republicans rat****ed Trump so we wouldn't be at this low point as a country.

Why would anybody waste time or money trying to keep Muslims out? It's not even an issue worth our attention. Here are 3 things more deadly than terrorism in the US:
    • Peanut Allergies
    • Dogs
    • Televisions (specifically the falling of them onto people)

Why is neither party focused on mandating TV sets are placed on the floor if life matters so much to them?
theHERETICS - Brute Force - Sonata - Dreams - The Pulsing Trollfags - The Expendables
