One big reason I rejoined Utopia after more than a decade away was because I knew nothing mechanically about the game. For over 30 years I've seen and used the meta in several other games. This became stale. By virtue of that realization I play Utopia in a sloppy, eyeball the target, guessing what's effective kind of way. I'm no less competitive but I've taken up the banner of ignorance and I'm still enjoying the bliss.
I wish you well, and may you find a place where the mysteries are vast and charming.
