Are Ambush Attacks Different This Age?

I had an Elf attack me with 1,866 Rangers(6 points each) and 197 Soldiers(2 each), totaling 11,590 Defensive points, times 80% = 9,272 Def Points.

I am an Orc. I attempted to make an Ambush Attack with 659 Elites(12 each) and 228 Off Specs(6 each), totaling 9,276 Attack Points. This Failed!

I got the message that I had "Attempted an invasion of ***** and had failed miserably". It even showed in my News that I had attempted an Invasion. It didn't say Ambush, although I was able to go back and check and I clearly had "Ambush" on my Attack Type box.

Can anyone offer an explanation to this?

Thanks Persain. This makes perfect sense. I thought about this before my attack, but thought they would only defend at 6 instead of 8.

So which is it do elf offspecs def with 8 def ? im sure it used to be 5 instead of 6 back when they had only +1 def ...This changed or what

rangers fight at 8pts on ambush, and strongarms fight at 6pt. it's worked that way for a while now, aside from spec values changing.

fair enough....yes as i said before i deleted. they defend at 8 points. he needed to send 12k+ and only sent 9k or so so it bounced

rangers fight at 8pts on ambush, and strongarms fight at 6pt. it's worked that way for a while now, aside from spec values changing.

why would Strongarms not defend as 8pts when they are 8/0 not 6/0

because the game's logic counts them as defensive units on ambush.

i suppose it's also for balance reasons, so that elf ospecs are worth more and halfer ospecs worth less

Because they are specialists, so when they defend theyes are d specs. When they are home and you get attacked, they just dgaf, so they defend at 0.
