    Dragons abound!

All KDs have Dragons at all times

    Dragons are hungry...

Iin order to keep Dragons at bay you must feed them units
-requires equivalent of investing 1 current Sapphire's 'sent' HP per Uto YR, with goals to be met each UtoMonth. If 1/7 of the week value has not been fed to drake by the 24th- he will begin to ravage the KD on the 1st until what is owed, and the new day's requirements are met
-this is just the MINIMUM, of course you can invest moooar

If not fed, Dragon effects KD and cannot be slain, only satiated

As dragon is fed, his health is increased by 1.2 * Unit Strength - Paladin bonus works towards feeding as well as slaying!

Dragons can be set to a defensive mode where they will intercept any incoming Dragon, and simply the one with great HP wins, carrying on its current mission with HP equivalent to the difference.
-Incoming Dragon 'A' kills defending Dragon 'B', A and arrives at destination KD with [(A HP) - (B HP)] remaining for the Provinces of that KD to slay
-If defending Dragon wins, it can continue defending, or the Monarch may choose to send it

If they aren't specifically set to Defend, they will ignore the current Dragon, and can still be sent to the opposing KD.
-Keeping a Dragon un-sent while an enemy Dragon flies, you will have the option to set to Defend, to send the Dragon vs the enemy Dragon, but you cannot continue to feed him- and the will not turn on your KD, only one can ravage you at once!

Dragon can be sent to any target KD within NW range, with same relation mods as current
-once a Dragon is sent, a new one takes its place and must also be fed

All Dragons have same effect, only the amount of units fed to them, and thus their HP will vary
-10% lower income and the loss of 20% of new draftees
-15% Higher military losses in combat
-20% lower magic & thievery effectiveness
    -Reduces building efficiency by 15%
    -Reduces military effectiveness by 5%
-one province per tick(maybe every 3 ticks?) basically takes a raze+massacre from the dragon, or something to this effect :D

Troops will slay a Dragon at their individual strength. Every soldier sent will destroy 2 points of strength. A race with +1 offensive strength will slay at 7 points, an elite will slay at its highest elite value. You cannot oversend.

A KD with an enemy Dragon flying CANNOT feed their current Dragon, or any new ones until it is slain. They may still send their current Dragon, or set it to Defend, and take on the enemy Dragon.

    The way I calc dragon HP is certainly not the way its actually done, but I have fair success doing it thusly;

My HP Metric = 0.75% Receiving KD NW

    Sapphire HP = HP Metric

Gold HP = 3.5x HP Metric

Ruby HP = 4.2x HP Metric

Emerald HP = 5.25x HP Metric

    SO

When I say 1 Sapp 'sent' HP- I mean the KD must invest [0.0075 * their own KD NW] / 1.2 / 7 each UtoMonth
    - 1.2 is noted above, modifier for feeding vs killing the Dragon.

This works out to ~0.0009 * KD NW, as calced on the 24th, owed to the Dragon in each 24h period- so as to add up to a minimum investment for every KD of the equivalent to 1 Sapphire each week
-note Sapphires will no longer exist in this system, im just using them as a baseline
-(we can prob just call it 0.001, although thats already round up from .00089- my calcs aren't the ones actually being used anyways so doesnt really matter)

    In summary;

0.1% of your own KD's NW worth of strength points must be invested each UtoMonth or else Dragon gets angry
-angry dragon must be paid what he is owed from previous month, as well as current months
-each point of strenth (unit value, as sent to dragon) invested will be worth 1.2 point of dragon HP when it is sent

Only 1 Dragon can ravage a KD at a time. If an enemy Dragon is upon you, you will no longer need to feed your own Dragon to keep it at bay- you can't feed it at all until the opposing Dragon is slain one way or another

A Dragon at home can be sent to Attack an enemy Dragon, or set to automatically intercept one that is incoming.
-The Dragon with the greater HP wins the battle, and continues on his merry way with HP equivalent to the difference between the two Dragons

NW can be changing of course, if you feed your dragon early in the month and your KD grows- he won't demand extra until the next feeding. (the feeding goal doesnt become "un-met" and result in ravaging if the KD grows after feeding)

Dragon effects are noted above, all Dragons have the same effect- just different HP. A Dragon ravaging his Home KD will have the same strength as any other.

    haha ok Flame on!

I can see this influencing people towards land dropping (ewwy), and also nub KDs getting smoked by dragons may not be the best way to grow the game. but it seems fun to me.

This is insanely detailed for such an outlandish suggestion.

Great idea but I doubt it will be implemented. It will hang the game with so many details.

i wouldnt hold hope for implementation any time soon either but i dont think tis so many details. has same moving parts as current dragons, then has the intercept option. of course feeding the dragon is new, but its the exact same as slaying.

I'm just saying... If dragons fight each other and def dragon wins there should be a healing mechanic. Maybe for a spell or just feeding him (less than keeping him at bay) so that you can keep it on def setting.

On top of/adding on to that, maybe instead of having different dragon HP have a leveling system of maybe 3/4 tiers (enough to invest in but not enough to concieveably keep all age or overwhelm an opponent if sent at max lvl.)

Maybe around 5% increase HP per lvl.

if you defending dragon wins and is still defending, you could continue feeding him

once you send it away to the other KD though, that it! his HP has to be locked.

Not opposed to idea of tiers of dragons, like say if you buff its HP to a certain % of your KD NW it would increase the % effects of a drake as it is sent.

a young dragon that has very little invested in it would be more like (Dragon HP is less than or equal to 1% of KD NW)

-3% Higher military losses in combat
-4% lower magic & thievery effectiveness
    -Reduces building efficiency by 3%
    -Reduces military effectiveness by 1%

a fully funded drake is... say 5% of KD NW and would be

-15% Higher military losses in combat
-20% lower magic & thievery effectiveness
    -Reduces building efficiency by 15%
    -Reduces military effectiveness by 5%

You can overpump a drake beyond this, but it just buffs their HP

I fail to see what this is supposed to accomplice at all.

We could also have global warming flood 5 acres on a daily basis, then once we reach year 12 and not enougth provinces has been drowned we increase to 50 acres a day just because, oh wait that was the standoff server.
Furthermore I think Carthage should be destroyed and Dryads brought back to the game

current dragon system is busted as hell with the GC investment compared to slaying cost. just throwing some ideas out there because from what i read a majority of people seem to think they need some kind of revamp

i think it could add some tactical elements on KDs who choose to grow their dragon vs a malnurished one, or when to send v defend etc

It would reward activity, as well as co-operative team play, as well as encourage people to train specialists when they normally wouldn't these days(As an attacker I would rather feed the Dragon with Ospecs, as opposed to my Elites, or my defence, and as a TM I would likely rather feed it Dspecs as opposed to my Elites).
