One thing I feel this type of calc does not necessarily properly portray, if you're looking at analyzing tact vs no tact, is that it's not just about dmg done to you, as much as it's also dmg taken by your offender. Imo the 25% auto-fail for CS leads to way more dmg to enemy thieves working you up. This might not be that relevant if you're NSing with 10% tpa, but it sure does add up when you're trying to full-thief steal horses/prop/aw...

Just my 2 cents on this.

PS: nice use of wolfram right there :)

True, good point (assuming non-heretics and non-rogues with lots of TDs). Also as OP mentioned, failed ops may "discourage" a thief from further opping you and they may simply cut short their attempts. (Although that may simply encourage them to target someone else in your kingdom.)

CS being only on tactic now means that you won't be safe from ns/prop/aw. A good rogue/mystic will always mv the cs(or ask someone with more wpa/mana to do it). Otherwise you are burning stealth doing nothing.

On the other hand nobody is going to mv cs to take your sot/som/survey and that's where the strength of the cs is.

CS was huge for Mystics and Heretics, especially active ones at war start who could spam it when it gets MVd off. Other than that, it's alright and helpful and might slow the enemy down a wee bit, maybe cause them to lose a few more thieves, but it's hardly game-breaking. Works best when combined with WT - CS + WT can easily = 50% autofail.
