You can't really "deep chain" anyone, especially not avians this age.

    1) New gains formula is extremely strong for top feeding.
    2) Even at under 100a you can still have 100k offense, you'll still be trading quads efficiently and have a undying offense.

Usually I refrain from making argumentum ad verecundiam vibe statements, but you can take it from a recent top fight, both sides found themselves with no way to "take out" the opponent attackers unless they are PKed. This is two equally active kingdoms that knows what they are doing.

The strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must

Last time I suffered a deep chain like that elites values were lower and chains were generally a bit meaner. While many recent changes have made chaining less effective, the lack of science increases as size falls was a bit increase in chain effectiveness. (And as a sage that age, I had *good* sci - I think I hit +40% pop at the bottom of the chain.) If you end below about 1/3rd your starting size, you will have to release a lot of offense, there isn't any way around it.

The claim of 1000+ OPA is wrong also - can't be done. Even if we put 115% of the land space as elites, we can't reasonably fit more than 35 epa onto a province. (right? unless it somehow has 100% homes *built* at the end of the chain.) Even with mounted UD we only get 640 rOPA, meaning the claim is 178% OME in this case. And of course it gets even worse for an Avian... to hit the target they'd need an OME greater than 260%.

it's vs. its is ambiguous - from now on I'm attempting to use the proper possessive it's, and the contraction 'tis. (Its will just be the plural.)

How to deal with avians greatly depends on your kd setup, opposing kd setup, the avian's personality, build and position in opposing kd. And then it's a matter of how much resources do you wish to dedicate to taking out the avian in question. If you throw everything at a province, sure it'll be disabled, but then the rest of the opposing kd will probably secure the win. There's a lot of different strategies that work well. If the avian doesn't have the offense to hit your important provinces you can keep it in check with fireballs/nightstrikes and let it bloat so it's easy for your chained attackers to recover from chains by landlusting that province. If his offense is a problem, chaining him usually makes him release at least some of that offense or you could even keep some army home + 1 general and camp his army home and bounce it (or hit if you had that much left). If it's multiple avians you need to deal with, I like deepchaining and doing toprazes on secundary targets with the last generals on your attackers. But while dealing with that avian, you also need a plan to deal with opposing t/m's and hybrids.

Now playing a well prepared bacon rogue. Seasoned the little piggie with peper, thyme and rosemary. Put in the oven with potatoes under it so those get baked in the seasoned fat dripping down. Asparagus with cherrytomatoes, olives and basil on the side. Hmmmmmm.

I would say pop/Econ control was effective on me last war. Constant greed and riots along with fb'ing me down to 2k pezzies meant I couldn't draft sols to replenish my army and that even if I could I couldn't train except for with creds. Once I grew too much the ns started and soon I was pretty chainable. Now the thing about this is that it left me with a lot of pop space. So overpopping me wouldn't happen but it didn't need to happen because by the time the ns runs were done I had lost so much off and def.
