    Bottom Feeding Abducts Gains

Should something be done about the gains of abducts over large differences in NW/Acres?

Background: Currently in war, deep chained and lost approximately 2000 acres / 400k NW. UB are 4x abducting. I can understand losing scientists to someone in range up to a certain point, but should a province 3.6x your NW and 7.2x your acres still be able to take your scientists? Or maybe make it have at least some % chance to abduct 0?

Province # Scientists Abducted % NW Difference % Acres Difference
    A 3 395% 445%
    B 3 381% 451%
    C 1 393% 459%
    D 1 254% 188%
    E 6 388% 537%
    F 5 396% 537%
    G 3 399% 463%
    H 6 380% 441%
    I 1 207% 145%
    J 5 389% 555%
    K 3 392% 455%
    L 1 374% 643%
    M 4 368% 722%

    Scientists lost: 42
    Average NW difference: 363%
    Average Acres difference: 465%

Yes to the first question, no to the second.

You're in war, you're suppost to rek eachother. There should be ways to do longterm damage to convince your opponent to withdraw before having to force a nw win. This tactic is open to you guys too. Also makes it damaging for attackers to be able to keep functioning well on only offense, which often gets complained about. The prospect of losing many scientists motivates some kd's to keep some defense on their chained, which is a good thing.

How many scientists do the out of range larger provinces get per hit? Are they all 1 per hit? There is a minimum level of gains in war and if you have enough scientists, that will lead to a non zero abduct (and potentially more than 1 if you have high enough).

2x some Universities and they will get 0.

Abduct gains are currently nw based so the land size is not necessary to keep track of for gains information.

Universities in a war that seems like a bad idea the gb protection should be allowed to kick in, in regards to abducts even when in war.

Why would universities in war be a bad idea? I think they are considered a bad idea, because abducts in war are not that common. GS are often considered a good idea, yet universities are more effective at preventing abducts than gs are at preventing land loss. If you don't want to be abducted and you know the enemy is focusing on that, then use universities. They are extremely effective.

Universities won't help you win the war, but they will keep science safe relatively cheaply.

But for chains? I can't imagine it is so costly to raze and abduct.

Raze and abduct could work, but someone would actually have to take a survey on the chained province... I think it's more likely someone just tries the gains with spare army than spend stealth on checking for universities.

I bet the t/m's feel good about getting some revenge though. Oow, the t/m's are just sitting around getting abducted without being able to do something about it, that being reversed in wars on chained balances it out a bit.

Abducting t/m is extremely expensive especially now mid-late age.

yes why hit a t/m once if you can hit an attacker 2-3 times, also t/m's has the same access to universities as attackers do, and you likely spent to much stelth if you wanted to check for this on the t/m.
