Why put paladin on dark elf? Not that many good spells you can share.

Now playing a well prepared bacon rogue. Seasoned the little piggie with peper, thyme and rosemary. Put in the oven with potatoes under it so those get baked in the seasoned fat dripping down. Asparagus with cherrytomatoes, olives and basil on the side. Hmmmmmm.

546706 total books in Palem's superfun uhm hoi challenge.

It's only an opinion. I think it's a good idea.

Some of this depends on how many paladins you might have in your kingdom. For distribution of paladin spells I'd set a priority list of the higher wpa recipients for dark elf. Let's say you have a faery paladin in your kingdom also. The faery could then cast on lower wpa recipients.

Taking into account the paladin won't have the mana of a mystic; the question of how much mana should be used for self defense, offense and kingdom well being should be managed.

Heh, the tiered paladin system makes sense actually. But I think DE/Mystics would be more beneficial because really... how important is it to land a paladin spell on a mystics? It's not like Bocans will survive one tick in war anyway...

While it's not very exciting, Faery paladin is your best bet bar none. You might have better success rate casting spells as a DE, but having literally every spell in the game for every situation is much more appealing.

If you're just looking for the paladin specific buffs and don't want to run faery, undead paladin might be your next best bet. Get your ass chained, then go on a buffing spree with your inflated wpa and +1 mana.

Yes, and these are the strategies to consider. Let's say we put 3 bocan rogues in my Virtual Kingdom. We know they'll be targeted, and we can guess by our enemy strat which provinces will be the likely culprits.

Now to be truthful I might not have any dark elf paladins in The Virtual Kingdom, but it's because the maximum number of any race and personality I'm running is 3. Thus, meteors come at a premium. By the same token the dark elves won't have CS and that can be a terrible weakness.

We can ponder the worth of breaking enemies vs being UB. Do we look at meteors as a second stage doctrine, or throw it out altogether? Maybe we consider our abilities on taking the initiative. This is what I enjoy thinking about as I construct The Virtual Kingdom. Those with real kingdoms may be forced to choose enemies wisely based on the weight of their build. We should all know when we see 5 bocan in a kingdom that things are going to get messy.

I'm a big believer in faery paladin, but it isn't equipt with a sniper rifle. It has a nice shotgun. My basis for liking faery paladin isn't in the variety it can cast on others but the extended redundance levels of self defense. This is what made faery cleric so appealing to me in the past. Not that we begin thinking of self, but that one is capable of being the last standing hope.

Utopia forces us to consider wpa, unlike D&D. Though, I'm sold on paladin because of my experiences in D&D. - In my last adventuring party we had 3 buffer personalities: a paladin, a bard and a warlord. That was 3 of 8 regulars. Our best comparison would be the D&D paladin was combative(a defender), the warlord was fairly hybrid, and the bard was about t/m level. Rounding out the party were 2 strikers which relates to malicious offense and evasive maneuvers; 2 pure defenders(I was an earth warden) which relates to decent offense and massive durability; and a wizard, which is strategically called a controller. Wizards far reaching abilities included enemy suppression on a large scale and noncombat expertise.

Admittedly not all strategies translate from game to game. However, we can review what has worked in the past to project expectations. My D&D party thrived in what would appear to be a ghetto strat, but it was actually an incredibly sophisticated cascade of interrelated capabilities. To explain what happened in one round(6 seconds) of D&D would take text walling well beyond top kingdom history debates.
