The initial NW spread as an indicator was way overrated. We didn't train until 5h before getting waved, since that was when we could enter prosp. WSK wanted war and was generous to give us an extra ~day to prep over our notice so that we could have that prosp (without that we'd have had no military at all and would never have warred). But since we trained all specs in it that meant we had similar military count despite the large nw gap.

Obviously doing war spoils was a big mistake for them. Probably because of the NW gap and the fact that CBs showed us with low military (much still in training) they figured there was no way we'd declare without softening them with TM ops first. Even after the WS we were close to doing that, but managed to run a quick enough first wave with -hours to beat home a couple of provinces and chain ~4.5 of them with no incoming. After that they were behind in attackers and it was really hard to come back.

It was a fun war, anyway. Much more enjoyable being able to break provinces in range this age.
