    What's a Bocan?

    I don't get it.

I've pretty much been a fan of fantasy literature, movies, games etc for most of my life. Can't say I ever heard of a "bocan". I feel like an ent trying to figure out what hobits are.

Bocan is a relative of Bacon; it is the VEGAN BACON.

So the 80s word "bogus" appears to be the Latin derivative. AKA the act of bocan.

I had the impression they were some sort of infernal folk (with the imps and all). Straightforward answer to a simple question would be nice . . .

That said I could have just googled it and saved everyones time. So, my bad.

As near as I can figure a bocan is some sort of fairytale gangle creature of Gaelic origin. Something about the breif search I did reminded my of the "gentlemen" creatures from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode Hush.
