Your point is flawed, war makes you grow which makes you face better competition. Number of players is irrelevant to this process. 25 man kingdoms pick on 22 man kingdoms because they can. 25 man kingdoms are not better at the game then 22 man kingdoms. They just have the numbers advantage that generally can't be over come.

The more provinces per KD the better chance they could do both.

Established KDs have teammates they've been playing with for ages, sometimes years, if the game were to limit KDs to say 20 provs, how do you cut 5 friends?

The better alternative would be to invite people! Bring your friends along! The larger the playerbase the better! :D

Another false statement it would open new strategies and create a need for hybrids. As for established kingdoms needing to kick friends is also silly. All top kingdoms have people coming and going all the time. Most even have people who just manage a province and set a sitter when wars show up. I think 22 would be a perfect number and you auto fill to 22. Putting all kingdoms on the same level for real competition. How many games start some players off at such a massive disadvantage? While giving others massive advantages?

I agree with Matija. I am the "leader" of hipmunks but I barely do anything anymore. If you want to lead a kd and live a happy life at the same time while fostering player retention, delegate.

In that context, allowing 30 province kingdoms would open new strategies too. In your opinion it may be false, but objectively it's not lol

Tic Tac Toe, a competent adult playing a child in Stratego, One player starting as Turks, another as Teutons in AOE II to name a few.

I agree with Matija here though, in the current state of the game I think a great Monarch probably needs to be better at delegating the important functions that need management to capable people.
Although, one of the most engaging parts of the game for me back in the early 2000s was leading my own Kingdom where I micro-managed a lot of the functions myself (although there were very capable people that made decisions in my absence). For me that was fun and I was good at it.

Delegating is fine but diplo is the Monarchs MAIN job. ALSO...

TY Kendy and not only 'cause we play in same KD. I has a recording from 1977 from live radio 0f Stevie and Chris from Maggie Mays in Austin. My Dad 0papa recorded.. BOTH parties has sued me to NOT release it. The Original tape was destroyed. 9 bucks worth of reel to reel tapel. In all fairness nobody knew Eric Clapton would kill Stevie like he did Duane Allman 4 years earlier. LALA indeed!

    Dear DavidC,

    To help you gain enlightenment.

It is clear that Pam(forum mod/supposed peon), has delegated commenting on unessential forum trivialities such as how to build a successful utopia kingdom to you(Game owner/supposed monarch) while he concentrates on the important areas of the forum such as faettackers, the latest TSwizzle album and general socialising. It is why you also are more likely to see him in General Talk than Strategy as he delegates that to Persain(Strategy mod/War leader type).

    Regards,
    makeo

p.s If you wish to delegate how to build a successful kingdom to ASF(strategy mod/council type) so that you free up more time to discuss faettackers yourself then this would also fit my model.

I'm simply amused we're even having this conversation. It's not a question of agreeing. If it means anything Matija makes a lot of sense. My issue there is the drive to debate when we can get along quite easily.

Palem was not a good strategist but no one wanted to take up the slack he clearly left available. My stand is my stand: everybody should know what they're doing. Many TFC players have been welcome into top kingdoms and none ever messaged me back saying their eyes were open to things they'd never seen. For me, that's all I'd ever want to know.

So: Are top kingdoms doing things that players I've worked with have never seen before?
A simple yes/no. I can satisfy my curiosity at my own peril.

Palem has my acceptance because he "gets" retaliation against the mightiest. This is why I'll always volunteer to join TFC. When an enemy has measured you up and deems you victim material, particularly those of top status, there's no greater potential to learn through perseverance. My addiction to retaliation isn't just born of my love for learning, I'm also in Palems camp of deserving candidates getting my version of a pointed boot.

When my chosen ghetto gets wrecked by a superior kingdom my endeavor is to learn why. I'm not a fan of munkbots format(it's just me, munk; you're a noble contributor) but it's the system we have. Conventional leadership doesn't promote nor deny me from what I'm doing, but they rarely engage the giants.

Well we just got to do this in our beginning of age war. We were decimated, but this is most valuable to me...and I would hope for my kingdom. It's not a question about becoming a kingdom we don't want to be, it's about knowing how to be who we are at any level.

If it helps Matija, I actually have very similar principles when I actually lead wars/monarch.
I feel that discussion and empowering people are the true keys to leadership.
If people feel that you have listened and understood what they say and they are fulfilling a role that they find enjoyable in a culture that is open and rewards trust then they will perform.
I am a delegator by nature rather than a micro controlled person and do not like kd's of that type.

Strat0 has seen how I war and lead. I am good at it when I wish to do it. (Rarely, utopia is largely a place for me to spam and misbehave as I have stressful work).

Now, with that said, can we get back to faettackers and the Swift album?

If your work is stressful there's something wrong with the culture there. Maybe the leadership spends too much time microing instead of...

And please no to last. Damn it.

This could not be more true! Did I forget to mention this was my method in my early days? It's the reason I was initially voted in, I was one of the top performers for several ages under my previous Monarch, I was helpful in Kingdom strategy and planning and warring organization (back in the older days it required much more organization to do well in wars IMO). Eventually the Kingdom identified me to take that role as Monarch (back then they constantly were getting bashed in the lower tier which is where we were).

I work as a support worker/counsellor for homelessness and addiction.

So micro controlled funding and the culture of society is pretty much a given.

Hence, makeo is often my spamming alter ego. :)

Who doesn't like to hit things in a virtual world and then mess about chatting with people about things?

Edit: I feel an open honest fun culture is the element which I most value in utopia. Spamming and being mischievous/playful is part of that.

I know a few more real life "nice guys" that have alter egos in the game ;)
