    my assessment of the situation is absolutely fair. your reply is disingenuous at best. fact is i have reported it numerous times since the new ownership of the game. I have never received any indication that anyone really cared or was doing anything to fix it. Prior to the new ownership of jeff and david when I reported an ad issue it was fixed with in 24 to 48 hours. now it never gets fixed. there are 3 reasons I don't complain about it every day. 1 the devs closed all the threads (great job you all should be fired) 2 you force me to buy the ad block when i have the ad block which is most of the time there is no problem. every single time i try to play with out the ad block it is impossible. 3 when i do complain devs and mods act like it's not even happening which is a good indication they are inept or disingenuous.

    What do you think creating multiple threads on the same issues again and again will do? You have had your instructions what to do when you come over a malicious ads. Here, let me help you on the way.

    But yea, I guess if you are unable to follow these simple steps to assure you get a free adblock I guess nobody is doing anything.

    Protecting new players from bottom feeding is impossible. Its always been part of the game. We are around 7 Ml nw and 14 Ml nw KD hit us hourly. We do retals and many here hit smaller KD too. Its always rolled downhill. Ya just gotta war more. Most KD respect wars and stay out.
    Until or if the player base grows the logical step as stated many times is to reduce the number of ppl in a KD so there are more KD.

    Ads: My comp locked up once today but I had been running nonstop for 30 hours. You gotta power down with windoze to dump memory. I use Chrome.
    The only other problem I have is the ad at the bottom of the screen that talks. "Talkies" won't let me scroll up so I am stuck at the bottom for 10 seconds or so til it ends. I don't appear to have the problems with ads others speak of , yet.

    Believe me, there is a huge world of difference between being good at playing a single province and being good at running a full kingdom. Then there are the various tiers of kingdom (warring, growth, skd, etc) where certain kingdom leaders excel. Further, you have the specialist leadership skills that some kingdoms utilise (war leader, protection setup, etc) from members of the kingdom council, but those members would not necessarily succeed at the job overall. There are certainly some existing players out there who could excel at leadership roles, or would grow into them well. But the significant majority I would say wouldn't be well suited to the role for various reasons, too, be it availability, patience, personality or whatever.

    As Korp has said, David has offered to provide a free adblock service for those confirmed to be suffering from malicious ads through the service. Until such time as the contract can be terminated, I would expect that is probably the best anyone can do, and it does show that he is willing to put player experience over profit. We mods have never pretended it's not happening (not that we have any control over it whatsoever, we suffer from the ads as much as you guys), and nor have the devs, else they wouldn't offer the adblock as described.

    Only way to create leaders is to encourage good players to make new kingdoms where they have to lead people that don't know how, hoping 1 in 24 are leadership material, or to put new players in existing kingdoms, hoping that they are leadership material and pick up the necessary skills.

    And then hope that these newly trained players/leaders actually form kds, and don't just act as reserves and replacements for establishes ones.

    Currently I think most new kds are made by returning players anyways, but that's not a sustainable trend.

    Leaders don't typically materialize in ghettos but it happens (Meep??).

    Game may have shrank too much to ever actually recover to a playable state for thousands of players.

    Making it better

    Well first of all, i'm ignoring the entire argument before. Why? Because it's not contributing to the subject.

    What i think this Game needs is some livelihood, which counts for most KD's nowadays. With everything being outsourced by using stuff like Slack, WhatsApp or other programs, the coöperation, community and camaraderie of this game is being destroyed and it's core/soul is killed slowly killing all te fun. Because everything is outsourced, people take even less time with the game itself and for teaching other the game and how it works.

    This is however beside the fact that are many many inconsistencies in the game. Things like the guide is incomplete or contains incorrect information. The wiki is reasonably up to date, but looks chaotic beside from the main page. The rankings button could be moved to the lobby, since the lobby is practically useless for users during the game and it could be used as a place for historic information. Also not knowing if the lobby and following chooser page can be combined, but it would sure clean things up. The blog is still showing the age 73 end schedule and is there not a useful addition at all.

    The rules are technically a user agreement and if you make people agree to this when making a province, you just can keep it as a page on the wiki and thats that. No need to keep it as a separate menu button.

    If things are messy, and not lively because players do most outside the game, you won't attract new players. The difficulty isn't a problem, as a teacher i showed the game and workings to some gaming pupils. Conclusion, they like the planning needed for the game, but it just looks a mess. It could use some in game animations, like gifs or something during attacks or ops, making it look more exciting. Or an advisor, just a moving face, commenting on stuff you do. Like "Are you sure my liege?" or "Lets make it so, my lord!", you could then bring back the option to behead him/her, which then would just change the face and voice.

    Just some things i/we noticed with a short glance at the game. Do with it what you will, but in my opinion things will slowly bleed out if some of the mentioned chaotic/inconsistent basics aren't improved.

    I agree. I'm in the minority regarding the outsourced mechanisms. Basically it's that what is good for some isn't good for all. Kingdoms exclude players based on use of their prefered com system and bot; lots of them. Enough to keep new players out, easily.

    The ability to jump ship to accommodating kingdoms is non-existent. Even an empty shell would be preferable to constantly running across Slack and Bot kingdoms. The game is very playable, if stealth draining, without the rest. The intel system should endeavor to be a reliable Pimp. Munkbot does what it should, so this isn't a critisism of that wonderful tool. It's that to attract players, who may not be tech savvy at all, there should be some basic attraction.

    They don't and those players require homes. However, there's a difference between team play and coddling some ill fated notion of competitiveness as comradery..but I digress.

    A player with no connection to the bot or com system can play this game at full speed as indicated with the propensity of experienced players in retirement and shell kingdoms. The real reason you want a bot is to ambush stuff. Otherwise this is pretty much a 'yeah I figured that' after grabbing intel.

    Top kingdoms require bots and com systems because they play the game at the edge of reason. In D&D we had guys that competitively built the highest damage output characters. They weren't very applicable to the game, but they accomplished what they set out for. When we compare the two you can attribute great expertise and mechanical knowledge that isn't applicable to the playing majority.

    The difference is, and I know you've been there, is I've seen both top kingdoms and D&D roid builds. The misinterpretations from the lower tiers is they haven't been there and believe this tool or tools grant them might. Neither grant might. It's relative to cargo cults: it's not how it works.

    Accessibilty to the raw game is paramount for new players. That they won't move to the second location is the difference between victim and survivor in the real world. That's why.

    no external programs don't seem to hinder the gameplay where I am playing, we even got the rituals rolling in lately on 7 provinces and I smell a few individual crowns for my team. The espionage page seems to be good enought, the only issue is that data once taken only stay there for a set amount of time, and you can't see their off on that page.

    Its 2018...a non graphic game.... and we still get "ooops" on a declare date for 30 min after declaring...u are losing us... but yet u give us a "tutorial" .... We love this game and want to keep playing ... but if we have the same problems and no fixing for 5ages allrdy... FIX THE "OOOOPS" !!!

    Yes do it, bring back this server Genesis.... This way I can team kill more elite players..... So exciting. I wonder if they'll be the ones I team killed in the 90's when this first game out... Bundled with Earth 2029..
